I wonder if a Correlation raycaster is possible? O.O

It's possible to make the 3D engine with nothing but 8x8 sprites, but definitely not raycasting 0_0

For those of you writing games or converting games that use the homescreen, don't fret and think that you're doing something wrong.  I found some bugs.

I'm afraid TI won't make a SDK, since we have behaved badly, we hacked their new calculator in just a few hours and are already making games (I give critor and all the other guys the merit for this though, while saying 'we').

I'm pretty sure that TI made a SDK before just to make money.  They only gave SDKs for free when not many people were using them.

Axe / Re: Correlation + Axe?
« on: April 13, 2011, 09:52:50 am »
Oh, THAT?  Sorry, that's not possible.  Amongst other reasons, Correlation fonts use a different file format than the standard Ti-83+ font--or for that matter, Omnicalc and Batlib fonts.  You would need an axiom, although my schedule doesn't make it possible for me to make one.

On another note, I did my homework, and apparently there's more to Correlation + Axe than meets the eye.  I'll have to document this.

WOW!

So seeing as Goplat has to make this "available," will it be easier than hacking the Nspire from the beginning?

Axe / Re: Correlation + Axe?

Axe programs are, of course, translated to machine code and run with Asm( ;D

With that said, you always want to use int("CN before the Asm( command.  Then you use int("CY when you want to return to Correlation.  This keeps things compatible and protects your data.  Axe programs are bound to use certain areas of RAM that Correlation uses.

It is important to note that switching between Correlation and Axe several times a second is highly discouraged if you're aiming at a fast program.

EDIT: I just reread your question.  When it comes to Correlation, it's better to run an Axe program from Ti-Basic than it is to run a Ti-Basic program from Axe.  But indeed, what you want to do can be done.

Sorry that I missed your question :(  Is there some kind of puzzle game you always like?  A lot of puzzle games have tilemap data where you need to extract a single tile to find out what kind of tile it is.  You could use abs( there.

Correlation / Re: Correlation Beta Builds

Build 7.  I've included a new, important Correlation chapter.  Please feel free to ask questions in the "Correlation" forum.

Bugs Fixed:

* You can now display real numbers, thanks to Runer112's amazing routine.  You cannot display complex numbers.
* Correlation will no longer crash when you run the Application Corelate.  Instead, you will see a message reminding you that you must use Asm(pgrmCORELATE) to install Correlation.
* As far as I know, scrolling up and down in Word Wrap will not mess up what letters are uppercase and what letters are lowercase.
* Text will now default to uppercase whenever text has finished displaying.

I've had several people ask me about how well I optimize Correlation, since programmers using it for Ti-Basic programs try really hard to get the most out of their Ti-Basic programs.  Although I carry out as many optimizations as I can, I've only programed in ASM for 1.5 years, and therefore I'm not the greatest optimizer on this website.  Nonetheless,  Correlation displays text faster than Output( and Text( do.

And just like Correlation, ASM programs always run faster than Ti-Basic programs do, even if you're a beginner.  So don't feel bad if you don't know how to make your program the fastest it can be.  It will still run great, it will still run FAST.  Optimization takes practice.

We may offer optimization suggestions, but it's never to critisize...it's to help you get better.  So be proud of yourself for writing an already-fast program.

Just finish something that makes a decent screenshot :) It can be simple, like your project partially finished

I'll post in this thread when there are so many unfixed bugs or other issues with Correlation that I have to work with it some more.  This in turn means you have longer to work on your projects.

For right now, Correlation projects are due April 30th.  Watch this thread in case deadlines are extended again.

Simple answer: restore the original SMF theme.

It's actually not that simple.  After all, others are going to become displeased if we do so, simply because they like the current version.
