Correlation / Re: Correlation Beta Builds
« on: April 04, 2011, 07:42:08 pm »
New Beta Build.

Bugs Fixed:

* ClrDraw in Correlation will now clear the screen properly, and operates faster than the standard ClrDraw.
* Word Wrap will now function properly when the user turns his calculator back on from APD
* Added code to produce better and nicer-looking results with Word Wrap
* Fixed a bug where the bottom line of text in Word Wrap would occasionaly be erased from the screen
* You can now display lowercase letters without using tokens.  If you add AsmPgrm inside your string, the rest of the letters in your string will be displayed in lowercase, assuming lowercase letters are in your font.  AsmPgrm will toggle back and forth between uppercase and lowercase.

EXAMPLE:  e^(0,0,"TAsmPgrmHIS IS A TEST. AsmPgrmYEAH!")  = This is a test. YEAH!

Known bugs:

* In retriving substrings, abs( does not work properly on a string with lowercase letters.  To keep Abs( as fast as possible, this bug will not be fixed.  Use sub( for strings that need lowercase letters.  The manual will mention this bug.
* Lowercase mode stays as lowercase mode until you use AsmPgrm in a string to toggle uppercase back on.  My desired result is to revert back to uppercase mode when a string has finished displaying.  This should be an easy fix.

Never heard of Bahamut Lagoon, but I was reminded of Risk

There will be individual HPs, and some pieces will move faster than others

This game is starting to turn out more and more like chess, so I'll be changing the concept of Calsiah, revolving around being able to move every single piece per turn on a bigger and less-open board.  This will allow "big battles" and strategy similar to an RTS.

However, these two things will not change:

1. You start out with a variety of units at the beginning, rather than just "workers"
2. Humans will still be all-around, Ptaloids will still be strength-in-numbers, and Tosonians will still be big, tough units

Apparently Correlation doesn't work on this OS...drat...

!_!
* Xeda112358 is crying herself to sleep tonight

* HotDog gives Xeda 2 chocolate-chip cookies, some milk and a hug to try to cheer her up

I'm trying it in wabbitemu, and the third-party apps work...

Have you tested it on your TI-84+?  Wabbitemu does have errors

Wha...wha...what???

WHHATTT?

They'd better fix this soon!  Otherwise this is the last straw!

Ndless for the Ti-84+, anyone?

News / Weekly Correlation Testing Report

Correlation

I promise this will be in the news only once.  I apologize to those of you who find this article to be annoying.

To Correlation Testers:

It is my goal to make this period of testing as easy and as fun for you as possible.  If you might require more time because you're having trouble, I have no issues being flexible.  To that end, I would like each of you to report how you are doing.  How is your game or test program coming?  Are you finding Correlation easy to use?  Am I doing well fixing things in a timely manner?  Is there a bug I have not found that is really "bugging" you?  Is there anything that you don't understand?  How can I help?  For this week only, please tell me in this news article, and in the future I will have topics for you to reply on.

Also a reminder:  Under "Our Projects/Correlation", you will find a place to report bugs, as well as the topic "Correlation Beta Builds," where you will find Correlation with some bugs that I have fixed.  Please check often, even once every two days.  If you have questions concerning Correlation, please start a topic with your question in that subforum as well.

And again, a big thank you for helping me to make Correlation one of the best programs for making Ti-Basic games!

Other Calculators / Future of Nspire Ti-Basic Programming?

"Features a dedicated programming environment as well as programming libraries for global access to user-defined functions & programs"

Is it possible that the Nspire CX will have a much better programming environment than before?  I'm sorry if this question had been asked, but I don't know

In my excitement I forgot that Chess is good for strategy because the whole board can be seen.  So in Calsiah, you will be able to switch back and forth between a large 16x16 tile board and a smaller 8x8 tile board.  Part of the beauty with Correlation is it will be easy for me to incorporate this.

Indeed.  In fact, the only people who get noticed for success are those who do so quickly and without any failure.  No longer are we in the days of Thomas Edison:

"1000 failures?  What are you talking about?  I've succeeded!  I've found 1000 things that won't work in a light bulb!"

Correlation / Re: Correlation Beta Bug Reports

Bug crunching is going well, but tomorrow I won't be able to fix as many, since I need to fill out some forms and turn them in to my college.  As there are no critical bugs to fix, please continue to work on your projects doing what you can until the "minor issues" are solved.

Or even just stay still in the sky...it doesn't have to be big, and it doesn't have to move.  Still, you're the game maker

What if it flew high overhead, like a plane?

That works!  I forgot to ask, what kind of file (including 3-letter extension) do models need to be?  I'm afraid I can't model hot dogs though :D
