 I moved to a student house (16 rooms) last saturday, this is what I get here, the others are asleep. Not sure how much it is at "home" (at my parents'), but I think it was about the same.

Would you want to have some sort of a game-pad in stead of the whole keyboard then? Either way, you'd better start with an 89 or 200 as base and just emulate 84 and 83 on'm.
If you want to make an actual "pure gaming" device, however, with and actual gamepad and all, you'd have to make sure that you can find enough games or edit games to work with only a d-pad, and a few additional buttons. That's the sad thing about TI-games, most games have somewhat similar controls (arrows + 2nd and Alpha), but not all of them do.
I have been thinking of such thing as well, basically a calc with just the buttons that are actually needed for games. For a case you could look into 3D printing services, furthermore I couldn't help with this.

Once played "Survival Island" with a couple of people from the Minecraft forums (hosting the map from my laptop). They were busy mining and slaying, I just built a nice house and farm with all the stuff they brought up from the mines. I wonder if I still have that save somewhere :q

Hrm, I'd rather want to make a "calculator" with only a d-pad, about 4 buttons and something like MirageOS as -actual- os in stead of a shell. Just for playing games, like some cheap Chinese handheld

At our school, we are not allowed to use "electronic devices" during school, graphing/regular calculators are exceptions. <3 Omnimaga for supplying me with an endless supply of calc games
Neither do we here (at least not during the lessons), but neither may we smoke behind the wall
