Introduce Yourself! / Re: Greetings Calc-lings!
« on: October 19, 2011, 08:10:02 pm »
The conversation here reminded me about this stuff and search on it. Apparently he was appointed as CoT (reappointed after inactivity) and soon after began to be rude and authoritative to other staff. Then one day he was talking with Eeems on irc and it turned into an argument which casued the banned person to kick everyone from irc.
So there was a bit of a warning

Oh. There's just a big gap in June - September where I wasn't active so I wasn't sure. Well that's not good. I never knew him much except for him winning the 2010 Axe Contest. And its quite sad this has happened

It's good to see progress here for updates to KnightOS. An account like this I guess is good considering the circumstances.

2316: That's why we are all so addicted to calcs and omni.
2317: We are passionate about all the same issues
2318: You realise that someone posted before you so you go back and change the sign numbers

the corridor will only have to appear at certain times so from 0 - 150 score the corridor appears. Then maybe another one at 700 or something. You might have to extend where the black cubes come in from 1000 to maybe 1400. But the rest will be the same random cubes. I'm sure you can do this.

So how many algorithms do speedcubers know?
I have to solve the cube in 6 or so stages, im pretty sure to get it faster the middle and bottom rows get solved simultaneously in one step

Math and Science / Re: Chemistry
« on: October 19, 2011, 05:49:29 pm »
Aargh! Chemistry! I'm quite interested in it but the concepts are really starting to stack up in Year 11. It's maths (which I also like) with all the formulas, but the stuff sometimes just doesn't get into my head. Especially all the scientific words. And Option A, for those who know about the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma is a nightmare, calculating the formation of an organic compound using only a graph with some peaks in it (a NMR spec graph or something [i can't even remember the name!]) just goes to show that I just passed Chem last term on the bare minimum. Science was so much easier and fun back in year 8 and 9.

The main reason I was interested in Chemistry was because of the Periodic Table. I used to know the names of elements in order up to 50 which is Tin, Sn, but now i've forgotten because my brain has had to move that aside to fit in the 75% of stuff in chem that isn't about the periodic table

I learnt the newbie method on http://www.rubiks.com. I found the Friedrich site but haven't bothered learning it as to date.
By "it" I mean extra algorithms

Nope I'm not good enough for such a good time, though my average time is around 2:10. I haven't fully learned advanced Friedrich methods as such

TI-Nspire / Re: [Lua] CubeField
« on: October 19, 2011, 03:42:02 pm »
Also another thing that could be added. In the original cubefield and the TI-84 version shown earlier, it starts with a corridor made out of cubes that the player travels through before entering the cubefield. Could this be implemented in the Lua version so it's not so easy to die instantly?

PS: I've uploaded the moving screenshot above.
