Other Calculators / Re: The return of my files on ticalc.org
« on: March 16, 2011, 05:33:08 am »
Oh no, DJ_O, I am so saddened by what has happened in the last few months. After all that hard work and that promise to put those files back up.

...smmagic? Really? i didn't know and i haven't been in sync with what's been happening. I'm speechless.... but i guess the number of people teaming up against omnimaga, it's quite different to what...[loss for words].

There are people out there like that i'm afraid. some may repent and become a better person. others, don't care. or even worse, try to hide it.
I have given you respect for that. Everyone needs the opportunity to express reasonable feelings of frustration sometimes.
Just know that there are still many members out there all supporting you from all the community.

I didn't realise it but there are nearly 900 members now! in about 6 months (october 2010) the number has jumped at least 1.5 times! I guess it's the quality of members not quantity of members

This is a sad time for omnimaga. but this new system i think will work well. 20 posts to talk in omnom obviously wasn't enough. and i think the individual invite is the best way to do it, rather than set an automatic barrier (eg: 200 posts, member for 5 months, post ratings).

I guess since 9/11 things have been getting ugly, with no sign of satisfactory resolution in Afghanistan

just the pixels (large pixels), wouldn't be accurate enough

800km/h i think it was but it slowed dramatically when it got to land about 50km/h. still disastrous, people had no chance of escaping, combined with the earthquake and 100+ aftershocks, unbelieveable. The satellite footage showed whole cities annhiliated! just a death land or something.

Just one of the many disasters and major events that have occured in 2011: For more go here: http://ourl.ca/9657.new#new

Oh gosh, 2011 is turning out to be a disastrous year, and it's only March!
First there were the disastrous floods affecting Queensland in Australia (and also the state of Victoria). Brisbane, the capital of Qld was very badly affected, but Gold Coast was Ok, just phenomonal amounts of rain. Also there were the Brazilian floods which only appeared once on the Australian News (Australia's floods appeared 100s of times).

Then Christchurch, that was pretty serious considering there was one last year already. And now Japan! This one has got to be really serious, all the financial markets plummeted over the last few days. Not to mention the tsunami that it caused. And of course the radiation.

Also we must not forget the beginning of the series of revolutions in Africa and the Middle East. Started with Tunisia (ending with the President's resignation on my birthday), then Egypt and the leader Mubarak, (also Jordan was having protests too at the same time), and Libya (Gaddafi). The difference between Egypt and Libya is that Egypt's was mostly peaceful and created an overwhelming sense of euphoria when Mubarak peacefully resigned, while in Libya there is a leader calling his own people enemies and engaging in civil war.

Given that this has only happened in just a few months, the forecast doesn't look good for the rest of 2011!
And we all know of the December 21st 2012 threat, could these events lead to this?

EDIT: 2008, the financial crisis marked only the beginning...

TI-Nspire / Re: Battle of 16s Strategy game for nspire - Progress
« on: March 15, 2011, 05:32:09 am »
i guess it's not knowing how to code ti=-nspire basic. it's how do i create a game? when it comes to AI, i have no idea what to do. The computer must somehow think for itself and that requires a lot of commands. is there a tutorial anywhere on the basics of games?

there is a slight difference but does it matter if there are spaces in between the equals sign. i guess it is better coding to have them consistent, either have spaces or don't have spaces.

TI-Nspire / Re: Battle of 16s Strategy game for nspire - Progress
« on: March 10, 2011, 04:13:43 am »
sorry for late replies from february. The scope of my original project was going to be in 256 battles 16x16. with 16 battles in each area. EAch area is numbered 1-16 and each battle in each area is numbered a-p. so eg: battle 7d.
I was making the battle engine when i realised it would be very repetitive for each battle and people would get bored. i tried to change the battle engine to make it simple but fun.... basically, i need ideas for the battle engine.

Now before we go to the graphical apprearance of this game, remember ti-nspire is very bad at displaying graphics, ie:the efficiency of programming to make it dispplay graphics.

Anyway, i have been so busy with school stuff and everything else that time flies.

i agree with that statement. This has been a good discussion and i like how most of you have offered to look at 350x19 and 350x20 and given some nice suggestions too.
