Computer Programming / Re: Does Java work on all computers?
« on: December 17, 2010, 10:00:22 pm »
I just updated my java to 6r23. it works fine in browsers however there are problems for me when i run .jar files (runtime). I can run them, but only after a massive amount of tweaking with cmd. I dunno why i have this since everyone else seems to be able to run them directly by double-clicking. but as for the java in browsers it should work.

Other Calculators / Re: Nspire CAS+: how worth is it?
« on: December 17, 2010, 09:57:23 pm »
with the cas+, keep in mind that there would be hardly any, or not at all any support for the model since it is a prototype pre-release model.

News / Re: Casio fx-9860G video player

I guess the Prizm would have a sd slot in one of its variations on the models like there is a FX-9860 and a FX-9860 SD models respectively... But this is a great development for CAsio!

General Calculator Help / Re: New TI-Nspire? Help!!!
« on: December 13, 2010, 11:06:42 pm »
TI loves to do this. release a newer version of the same calc and make the old one discontinued. then introduce it into booklists so that everyone has to buy programming-limited calcs while ti boasts about the latest tech in its calcs.

That's why I use FF portable and chrome portable. Not only do you have great browsers constantly with you, but you have all your bookmarks and settings as well. :P

Me and my friends' site doesn't show up correctly with IE. So we put up a warning and links to FF and Chrome. :P

yeah i wished i could do that but thelibarary computers don't allow running of exe files (uknow, virus danger or somewhat) so i am still forced to use ie7 at the libraries

oh sorry i knew what u were saying, i was just veering off onto another topic
and yes opera is falling behind in some aspects of webpage rendering, however there are some things that only ie can do (not even ff) and when i have to do it, i am forced to open up that browser

Firefox has been dominant in increasing market share over the past few years, and chrome's is going up even faster than firefox. safari and opera are stable.

thanks for the quick reply. about the storyline, kind of. i guess this rpg is kind of a generic rpg like TI RPG for ti-nspire not exactly like a rpg with a complex storyline (eg: nostalgia). basically once i have the foundations ill think about it.

things have changed since the dominance of ie6 an acceptable browser when it was released, but towards the end of the life cycle a horror browser.
ie9 is microsoft's attempt to catch up with the rest. it has lots of improvements and scores 95% on the acid3 test, but is still behind in some areas.
