Other Calc-Related Projects and Ideas / TIMRPG - New Update on Progress
« on: December 12, 2010, 08:48:34 pm »
I know i haven't had much time recently to go onto omnimaga.org. However i am making progress on a new rpg i am currently developing. I know that in the past few months i have started and halted many unfinished projects and have not really produced anything concrete for omnimaga to see. Hopefully this rpg will go further than most of my projects and i have some screenshots here for you all to look. Please feel free to comment!
i have put them in a rar file since there is 7 of them and it is easier to upload them together than separately.

Nope, unless someone knows PHP and can make a SMF mod that fixes it. :P

But seriously, Internet Explorer is terrible, especially 6 and 7. None of the versions are fully compliant with web standards. Some sites even blocks IE users to force them to switch. :P

I personally don't understand why some people absolutely want to stick to IE when you can customize Opera or Firefox to look similar to IE (if you only use IE for the look), unless your parents refuse to let you install a better browser.

Yes the standards on IE 7 and even 8 are just terrible.
IE 6? Forget it! No tabs? The nightmare browser

As for DJ your question, it's microsoft. Terrible. Ever since IE started owning the market over the previous superbrowser, Netscape (which was interestingly run by Mozilla) in the 1990. Microsoft has taken great lengths to ensure it's browser dominated. So they started introducing it into their OS so that it would ship with it. and the real reason for people to choose it is not because they choose to stick to it, it's that many have never even heard of firefox or chrome or opera and just 'are happy with the default programs that microsoft provides with windows'. But things are changing, and with IE coming down to less than 50% of the market share, someday MIcrosoft will go DOWN!!!

Anyway i like this page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Browser_wars

for another reason why IE 8 sucks: go to acid3.acidtests.org
try it first with chrome or any other non-ie browser and then try Interent explorer 8. you'll be laughing. imagine ie6's score.

As for IE 9 well i will have to change sympathies a bit because it is much better. but i also see it as a catchup to the other browsers rather than leading the pack

thhis page will also have you laughing. it has so many lies that you can easily see thorugh, microsoft is desperately trying to save its precious browser
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/compare/default.aspx

also here in the public library i am forced to use the horror ie7 and on the profile page where you can edit your sig it keeps jumping down and shaking. also on ie 7 you cannot even drag in the bottom right corner to make the editing box bigger!

Thanks for that, it explains a lot. Now i don't really know what to do. This really is frustrating and even though i am currently making a rpg, there's not much point continuing because i know the same result and even better can be achieved on a TI-84+ for example

Now that I'm over that I'm sorry

it does!
The workaround is a partial workaround
currently the biggest annoyance is this:
Error. Cannot Change Variable. Variable in Use.
Requested variable is out of allowed range.
I figured out what causes this but the workaround i have thought requires a lot of work
and i probably need to learn more about the language, i am technically still kind of a beginner, other programmers have been using lots of functions i haven't even come across and have difficultly unstandering even with the reference guide!

I have new ideas now, it will not be as good as i originally hoped because of the limitations but it should be ok.
the programs i was trying to improve were battle of 16s and my Poker game...

I guess the main thing was expecting too high of myself. I expected to create a fully-fledged game even though i knew it would take months. and when i encountered all these limitations... well i kind of stopped.

As for all the other programs in my sig, i am also trying to adapt their development ot the limited language.
in the end there will be decent quality games on the nspire without having to install ndless
I guess im still sticking to basic for the time being, not that i would want to develop for ndless

Oh, I just put it there because I found it when i was using SRWare Iron Browser. When you upload it it gives you lots of options for putting it in forums, in html links and stuff. U can have a normal forum sig pic or a zoomable one and some other options and it gives you the code for all of them, ready to be copied and pasted in...

So just a standard link.

http://img.removedfromgame.com/ is pretty good too becuz it shows u the picture u uploaded.

Have to recreate that userbar...

Oh! It was going so well! Hopefully with Axe you'll be able to get your code to a smaller size!
Good Luck!
