Miscellaneous / Re: Google Map lets you view INSIDE buildings!
« on: October 18, 2012, 07:52:13 pm »
Wow thanks to juju I just learned that Google Maps lets you view inside some buildings now! Maybe one day we will be able to stalk each others there? ???

Anyway check as an example :P https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=35.898336,-81.547809&spn=0.00191,0.004128&sll=35.900197,-81.547024&layer=c&cid=7373938251588581469&panoid=4Hg9K4xQrGMkTAudtPqBYA&cbp=13,143.49,,2,9.86&gl=US&t=m&cbll=35.898336,-81.547809&z=19

Breach of Privacy!!!
Jokes, but obviously the images would not be live, otherwise that would be freaky. Images from inside a building on Google Maps could be taken from a day ago to a few months ago.

EDIT: Yes the image date is Jun 2012

Lua / Re: PCspire, run Nspire lua programs nativly on your pc
« on: October 18, 2012, 12:21:30 am »
Haven't tried, but I'll see what it says.
Thank goodness it's cross-platform, I though it might not have been from somewhere I read.

EDIT: How can you run it from the commandline? It just runs normally like a normal exe.

Spoiler For Blather:

I eat you when this is not for windows. I need this SO bad  if I want to develop nspire lua programs (but I do not have an nspire xD)

Well I must've of remembered this and it stuck.

Oh there's no .love files it's just a folder with a whole bunch of .lua files and fonts. Should it be compiled I wonder?
@cyanophycean314, I'll shouldn't take too long before a release, as it's already quite progressed.

@alberthrocks, thanks! And yes, I will distribute it in .love files :)

Then again it shouldn't matter

This is definitely cross-platform, as this itself is also written in Lua! :D Windows, Linux, Mac OS X - you name it :)
(I'm assuming there will be binary distributions: https://love2d.org/wiki/Game_Distribution)

This is some amazing work! :D This will truly unlock the world of Lua for me, and possibly for countless others as well! :D

Well I ran from the command line like this "love pcspire" (that's what I named the folder). Exactly the same result.

Another idea that would probably be nice is that when people add an attachment to the forums, maybe something advertising the downloads section should be added as a notice there telling people that if they are uploading a calculator program or game, they should consider adding it to the downloads section as well.

For those who don't want to, then maybe on the front page there could be a list of all the latest attachments and their topics/posts on the front page too.

Good consideration. Actually I've never put anything in the download section on Omnimaga before, but just putting it there could help make the difference.

Forum Arcade Games / Re: 1i Champi

one eye Champi I think. Since the creatures are one-eyed.

EDIT: So shouldn't it be one eyed Champi?

So you can safely install unmodified OS and then use nTNOC to remove the boot2 from the OS?

216
Cemetech's front page is definitely simpler, with fewer widgets, but I'm not sure if that's better or would actually benefit Omnimaga.

Omnimaga has lots of quirks and addons (eg: arcade, downloads, tutorials etc) which I like, however it may be overwhelming to the new member. Still most people come to Omnimaga to contribute to calc projects, or just look at them.

Yeah I noticed lately that there weren't more news. I kinda slacked down myself but it seems like Critor stopped newsing entirely too. Maybe we could have a newser for hardware/OS updates and some for games/program releases, and each others could sometimes help when they see something notable.

There are articles and tutorials written the Tutorials section, but they're not really used or known much. I wonder...

TI-Nspire / Re: TI-nspire Hold 'em - Basic and Lua
« on: October 17, 2012, 06:44:37 pm »
Yes that's a good idea, I'll see what I can do with that, though programming arrow keys to move up and down the menu would still be useful.

EDIT: 1700 posts!

TI-Nspire / Re: TI-nspire Hold 'em - Basic and Lua
« on: October 16, 2012, 11:40:25 pm »
Yep. I programmed the original TI-nspire Hold 'em Basic, and started working on this Lua version. The winner detection process and increasing blinds haven't been implemented in the Basic version yet however.

This is a situation, mostly hypothetical. If you upgraded your TI-nspire Clickpad from 1.4 to 3.1 without using TNOC first, but then you can install ndless, nTNOC can't remove the 3.x boot2 can it? So then I don't know how you can avoid using TNOC without resorting to installing TI's 3.x boot2.

Does this mean you can use nCleaner instead of delDico? i.e. nCleaner does everything delDico does and more?

General Calculator Help / Re: TI-Nspire OS Compatibility Topic
« on: October 16, 2012, 11:22:41 pm »
Gaaah! Damn it TI! So people who install the OS without any modifications are just pretty much stuck with boot2 3.x
What if boot2 were 2.x? Is there any solution there?

Also I remember other tools posted in news but have forgotten them.
EDIT: Ahha found quite a few of them! They are listed in the first post.

Site Feedback and Questions / Re: terminal-based browsers
« on: October 16, 2012, 11:20:43 pm »
Update SMF or update the mobile based versions?
Still there's no guarantee that an update in SMF version will have a new mobile based version that comes with it (unless you decide to check out SMF 2.x out for yourself).
But big problem is, as I remember DJ_O saying, this current Omnimaga theme is not very compatible with SMF 2.x, but more so all the mods and addons to the website, and would require a whole lot of work.

On the other hand, not sure if the mobile based version can be tweaked within the SMF, (unless there's a mod or addon for that), or some other method.

I thought these wap, wap2 and imode were built into SMF. Not sure how they can be tweaked unless a new version of SMF is used (and that's not going to happen anytime soon)

They should only be a few KB at most right? Unless it's a long text.
