never heard of them, and it sounds like i should be happy about that :)

Surely you would have heard of at least Justin Bieber? When he came to Australia he was given the crazy girl fans treatment too.
It's the same here with 1D.

1000s of girls screaming at 100dB+
Great, kill your eardrums before the music even starts o.o
Just to clarify this particular incident was them on Channel 7's Sunrise (morning show) inside the TV studio.
The concert is a separate thing.

So you think it's not omni that is being ddosed?

No, I don't think it's Omni.

Oh of course how could I forget, netham45.org was down too at the same time. Therefore it's not a targeted attack on Omni phew. I think the news article can be a bit misleading too then. Maybe we should add that several sites were down too?

Yeah go ahead. (Though I may return to the project in a few months if I ever get to)
Just one question, would you be planning for a Basic or Lua version?
Also your Demo casino program looks nice, has there been any other progress on that?
Also I am creating a new website to house my TI-nspire progress:

Wow I was definitely not aware of this. This looks mega useful and very graphical too. How do you get those dialogue boxes up?

Miscellaneous / One Direction In Australia

Well some of you at least have probably heard of the boy band One Direction. Well today as they were in Australia it was all over the news with 1000s of girls screaming at 100dB+ while the 5 teenage boys waved through a glass barrier in a TV show studio.
And Tickets for the concert selling in a matter of minutes!

Not that I'm excited or anything, but girls do get overexcited and stuff.

At this we still aren't sure who is attacking. Good point Chockosta.

Also the forum time offset is now 6 hours less! Which I guess it is ok, however eg: UTC+10 is now 8. It'd be good if the time offset were set so that it fit with GMT/UTC time zones.

Hmm after the 16 hour downtime looks like the offset has changed back 6 hours so when I had 14 for offset, now just 8 works (this is UTC+10)

This strategy has worked even better now! With total concentration you can get a great score, and I just got a score of 71 which is 7 points more than the previous champion!!! YAYAYAY

Lua sounds great! I'll definitely want to see that happen.  :D
Seeing how you improved your code, let's say it sounds very familiar XD Especially with my current project :P

P.S. Your list of programs in your stadium seems interesting. Is there a possibility I could have a look at the source/get all of em?

It sounds very familiar? To what? I did create this game waaaay back in May 2010

Yes ElementCoder I have thought about releasing the source code and stuff. I have already released a whole rar file with most of my project in there in my General Projects Topic

So ANYTHING anyone sends over. Hmm that's not good.
I think this may have happened to me once or twice, but not generally. So I'm not sure what's going on at your end. Opera works fine for me, same behaviour as chrome.

TI-Nspire / TI-nspire Hold 'em - Basic and Lua
« on: April 11, 2012, 08:27:02 am »
Hi,

When I got the TI-nspire Clickpad in 2010, there was one game that I started developing in May, before anything else...
This game has 2400+ downloads on ticalc.org... is my most completed TI-nspire Basic game... certainly my most well known (expect for possibly Health Bar :P)...
Considering I had topics for my other (incomplete and possibly stalled) projects, I did not have a topic for my best game:

(Jason's) TI-nspire Holdem! (click for ticalc.org link!)

I have decided to create this long overdue topic to post on past and current progresses in this game!
This project has a bright future, where I have (mostly) finished with the Basic version, it has great potential for a great graphical Lua game!

I must also say that this program was originally based on Matt Oslan's poker dealer game (which is was the most downloaded TI-nspire Basic Game O.O)
However it has evolved and is now completely different, possibly using 90% now using 98% of my own code.

In my latest version yet to be released I have made huge optimisations in cuttting down some programs from 157 lines of code to just 3 315 lines to 5 and 472 lines to 7 by adding a list somewhere in another program linked to it.

My focus now is shifting development to adding detection of poker hands (determining whether you have a royal flush or a pair for eg) and AI. With Lua I can also develop a graphical interface too!

This topic will have it all. (well maybe not). I need to make another announcement about my (new) website too. http://www.tistadium.co.cc (which is currently down and gone :O)

Latest BASIC version: v1.2.4

For the last year or so, I have heard rumors and remarks about how the TI-Nspire Computer Link Software and the TI-Nspire Student Software, at certain points in time, have upgraded user's TI-Nspires without their permission.

I am wondering if this is really a forced upgrade, for example, when launching the software and connecting your calculator, a forced upgrade that was present at any point or another in previous software versions or if it might have been just a misleading software alert box tricking people into upgrading?

To those who had something like that happening, could you state if such upgrade just launched automatically or if it was due to a mistake from your part? If it was a mistake, could you state what made you upgrade, such as what message/alert box did you get? If it's a common mistake due to a misleading software warning, then maybe there could be some sort of sticky topic warning users about it?

Some people may not want to upgrade to OS 3.2 immediately (and they have every right to decide what gets installed on their calc or not), so it might be good to warn them if any of the forced upgrade or misleading upgrade warning rumors reveals to be true.

I would also like to know myself, because I use Nspire Student Software a lot with my CX and I would hate if it was upgraded without my consent. I know, for example, that in the version of Computer Link that I had, there were two boxes to uncheck to ensure that your calc doesn't get upgraded automatically, and those boxes sometimes would get checked again on next launch, even though you unchecked them before.

Hmm what the Computer Link software does do is that it pops up with a dialogue box telling you that a new version of the OS is available would you like to download and install it. But nothing as covert as just installing the OS without the prompt I think.

Site Feedback and Questions / Re: Unresponsive website (at times)
« on: April 11, 2012, 07:55:45 am »
I'm using Chrome 18.0.1025.152 and on Omnimaga, when I try to load a page, it just goes completely unresponsive. Every time. (It only happens on Omnimaga, and before Netham's anti-spambot ip filter thing was installed, Omnimaga worked just fine (same version of Chrome).)

If it's doing it everytime then how are you posting? :P
Usually a force refresh (Ctrl +F5 and Shift +F5) works eventually.

Also...

Wow nice! I like the graphics in this game, looked impressive from the first moment.
There's a light grey outline rectangle from the top left corner. Is this intended?
EDIT: Oh nice! It indicates your position. It is a bit glaring/blocking though
EDIT2: Here's a screenshot if you need one
EDIT3: Here's another one. This is fun! Well when I can solve it. I think there are harder ones which are not fun because I can't solve them.
