Site Feedback and Questions / Re: Fix QUOTE tags

About the site? just what is bulk.destructoid.com? (I don't mean where it came from, but what it actually is about) Maybe it's not exactly meant to be up and running. It does say Access Denied in the xml stuff, so only open to certain users?

Site Feedback and Questions / Inconsistency with Posts per day.
« on: March 06, 2012, 06:48:16 am »
For a while I was trying to shake off the feeing that the new hosting move would cause some inconsistencies that had not been solved as of yet. But then I realised what was wrong. When the old members registered on the current site got a post count boost (from old posts), the registration date didn't change (I.e. from August 25 or later). So while posts from before August 25 were counted in post counts, this would give an abnormally high posts per day statistic in profiles as
posts per day = number of posts / number of days since registered (on new forum starting Aug 25 2008)
i.e.: DJ_O's profile http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1

Just bringing this up as something, though I doubt this could be fixed as all registration dates would be inconsistent too between old and new members.

Hey don't give up Chockosta! This is an ambitious project and it may take quite a while before you make significant progress on this. I would regard this as a large project that you can complete in steps while you complete some other smaller projects. So go and program something else and then come back and work on this one step at a time. Then we shall see if we can show TI how to "defy the impossible".
Also I have been trying to learn Lua but it's been slow progress, if any.

Casio Calculators / Re: Casio's Response to My Suggestions

I would have liked to get a 84+ Keypad for my TI-nspire (black is ok, but the original blue is of course preferable). Apparently I heard it isn't available in Australia though, and the only other option is Ebay.

Of course, so simple, Levak, I didn't get the opportunity to look at that properly and post about that.

Miscellaneous / What Does Your Voice Sound Like? (New Collection)
« on: March 06, 2012, 06:00:33 am »
Hello everyone,
I had thought of this idea for a while (and some of you may have too). I wondered what people's voices sounded like. So I wondered if we could start a collection of some sort. I know annoyingcalc has attempted this before in this topic: http://ourl.ca/12792 but here I would like to see something like this for each member who wishes to record his/her voice.

You don't have to record anything long but just follow the format I have outlined below. A bit of flexibility is allowed if something doesn't seem to fit. (Stuff in brackets) are optional.

Hi everyone, my name is [real name], also known as [insert username] on Omnimaga. (Where you live)(custom lines)

If you don't want to reveal your real name then use the following format (tweak it if you want to)

Hi everyone. (I wish not to reveal my real name). I am known as [insert username] on Omnimaga. (Where you live)(custom lines)

For custom lines you can say anything pretty much, something about yourself, about calcs, about your interests, but don't drag on too long. ;)

Sorry if not everyone has a microphone to record with. I realise this will not be possible for some people.
You can record with just Sound Recorder on Windows (also software on Linux and Mac)
Also try to save your recording as Voice_[insert username]

Also one important note: Personally you may think that you sound terrible on recording, but what we think our own voice sounds like when we talk is different to what everyone else hears. It can differ a lot or only a bit. You may be surprised when you play back the recording of your own voice.

Now without further ado, I present the recording of my own voice:

Levak, Would it be ok if I worked on what was originally your v053 batch file in English/Windows, and released it as a Jonius7 edited version?
PS: I wouldn't know much about a French version.

I'm confused, I'm trying it in WabbitEmu (OS2.41) and I can only shoot to the left, I cannot shoot to the right which leaves me stuck at level 3.

Wow I like the graphical health bar and stats along the right. Definitely improving on the Basic version.

What you could also do is put "friendly" faces on the square and enemies. It'd look funny.
EDIT: Oh I tried your game saintrunner and realised that your game does have funny faces. This was after I suggested the above. :P

Oh yeah, that's true. (I don't have a TI-84 Plus so I hadn't noticed that.)

I might release a separate, remapped version for TI-84 Plus calculators (I'd make it an option but it would slow down the game considerably without 15 MHz).
Yeah I think so, though it would require more work on your part. Stick to the 83 for now, and see what you can come up with.

What's the file size of RTF style documents as compared to XML? I'd suspect that XML styling would result in smaller tns files (eg:  .rtf/.doc/.docx) so perhaps that's why they changed the styling for the release OS version.

A few things about nspire_emu as of present.
The clickpad is fine but the Touchpad is horribly mapped to the keyboard. Nearly every key I press is wrongly mapped. I suspect this has been a problem for quite a while, and it's a shame I can't really try out the touchpad.
I plan to release my personal edited versions of Levak's batch file scripts that work with v060, if that's fine.
