News / Re: OS 1.03 and PHYSIUM add-in
« on: October 22, 2011, 05:38:28 am »
I have a laptop that runs Ubuntu (11.10) and have been trying to update the OS using WINE and it hasn't been working.  Is there anything I can do to make it work?  Otherwise, I can wait until I have access to a Windows machine to do it.
Edit: It looks like the computer is simply not recognizing the connection, it's worked before so I'll just reboot. Never mind, I will just wait until tomorrow.
I don't think that anyone has been able to update the Prizm OS using Wine. Since it most likely uses its own drivers to communicate with the calc, Wine might not support it at all.

Does C/ASM stuff still work on it, such as Obliterate? I hope Casio won't try blocking games X.x
Everything seems to work just like before (I tried Minesweeper and Obliterate).
Also can somebody post this on Cemetech?
I posted it there recently.

It's wonderful to know that Casio are listening to us and fixing the bugs. It truly feels like they care about everything, and that's great!
which is one thing that we can't say about TI :P
To be honest, they are busy fixing bugs that Adriweb/Levak/Critor and I reported ;)
Anyway, very nice update :)
They seem to be interested in fixing the Nspire, but the z80 series still has many ancient bugs left that we know how to fix, such as group corruption.

Has the size limit of add-ins been increased/removed? Physium is over a megabyte!

Is someone working on TNOC for 3.1?
TNOC is already fully compatible with 3.1 as far as I know. However, it will not be able to downgrade after installing an OS, as that is not what it's supposed to do at all. Its initial purpose was to trim the size of the OS by deleting unnecessary files. This just happened to be useful for downgrading, but only if those files were removed before the OS was installed, because uninstalling them without using other programs is impossible. (Or maybe it's possible, but it bricks your calc? I forgot.)

is there a chance to downgrade from os 3.1 if i already installed os 3.1 without TNOC ? :/
It's either very hard (you'd need to connect using RS232 and do some other stuff) or impossible, sadly.

I used to type normail instead of normal. (Only when using a keyboard, though)

Casio Calculators / Re: Compiling stuff for Prizm

I was planning to do it like on WikiTI, in which the article names use numbers and the lists use names. I haven't figured out how to use names within the automatically generated lists, though.

Making separate wiki articles for the syscalls will make it much easier to find information. I'll create the category, links to it and such right now, but I'll need some help with adding information about the syscalls since there are so many of them.

EDIT: I've added a few syscalls, and they can be accessed by hexadecimal number from [prizm]Category:Prizm syscalls[/prizm]. Maybe there should also be categories that are based on what syscalls are used for (displaying things, file management, etc.) or lists with names of syscalls?

How the hell did someone post a THREE HOUR YOUTUBE VIDEO??????
Some accounts (those that don't have any strikes, maybe?) can go over the 15 minute limit and post videos that are very long.

they lowered it to 13, I think.
That's likely. I'll try to register to see if it's true (I'm 14).
EDIT: Nope. "You must be over a certain age to use this feature."

They removed this limitation apparently. My 11-years-old brother signed up. Don't remember if he signed up with his real birthdate though.
wut O.O
All websites in the USA that store personal details are forced to have a limit of 13 years, so I don't think they could have set the limit that low...

I'm not sure what I should answer on the first question. Is it about the government of the USA?

Casio Calculators / Re: Getting started in Casio-Basic? You can ask here.

the ability to use HEX codes to generate icons. Especially the last function got me jealous of TI-calc owners D:
That's not an actual TI-BASIC feature. The program Doors CS makes it work when you open files using it, but in all other cases, you can't have an icon.
