Ndless / Re: Ndless 3 and access to Wireless
« on: September 09, 2011, 09:18:00 am »
Everybody gets a USB cable with their Nspire, but not the WiFi cradle.

The CX has Wireless. However, it's blocked to only have access to the Cradle made by TI. If we could code in ASM, we could use the Wireless to connect to devices of our own, or even other calculators.
I thought all of the wireless stuff was in the cradle, not the calculator?

Yes. This is because TI has attempted to block third-party files in OS 3.0 and up. Currently, there is no known solution, but it's likely that a program that's compatible with 3.0 can be created in the future since we know a bit about how the encryption works.

No. Axe programs only work on the 83+ series and 84+ series.

Edit: A quick Google search shows that it returns the amount of memory in use by Lua (in kilobytes).
That makes sense. I wonder why they didn't implement it before?

I don't think the nspire garbage collects, at least in the idea of how the 83P's do.
Maybe it does something that's similar to the Java GC?

According to the name, it would return infos about the garbage collector? If my guess is right, it's not really something interesting indeed.
I think it stands for Graphics Context.

EDIT: is text editor use ndless? if it does, you can't use it in OS 3.X yet.
I believe that it's a PC-side program that does not encrypt the files that are sent to the Nspire, making OS 3.0 reject those files.

After some more testing, it seems like the amount of free memory decreased by about 2 KB every time NyanCat is run and then exited by pressing CLEAR. For example, starting at 14 KB free RAM and running NyanCat three times makes the amount of free RAM be 8 KB.

Casio Calculators / Re: Prizm Getkey

I wonder if adding multi key support will be easy? Does the Prizm allows direct input like on TI calcs? (where instead of returning the keycode, it checks if a specific key was pressed or not)
Yep. Insight has an example of it (the "keyboard ports" option).

I find HTML very easy.  I use microsoft word if using windows.  And Abiword if using Linux.

Microsoft Office Word to develop HTML? I hope it works for you, but it doesn't make much sense IMO, it doesn't have syntax highlighting and it's CPU Consuming, unlike, MS Notepad or Notepad++. And you also have to pay for it, unlike what happens with Notepad++ or vim, or nano or most text editors.
It's possible to create formatting in Word like when you create a normal document and save it as an HTML file - it's completely different from typing the HTML code in Word.

News / Re: ASM to arrive on TI-80 ROM 4.0 soon?
« on: September 05, 2011, 02:02:36 am »

The TI-80 was released in 1995 as a cheaper alternative to the TI-82. It has around 7 KB of RAM, a 64x48 pixels LCD, runs on a 16 bits proprietary 980 KHz processor and doesn't act as normal to gravity as other models.

lolwut? TI invented anti-gravity for the TI-80?
Maybe they just put a bunch of rocks in it so that it gets heavier? :P

I can play the games (they have been made for being played on PAL 3DS systems), but things like the frame rate in all games, the physics in Super Mario Bros. and the speed of the music in some games are like how they are in NTSC versions of the NES games instead of the PAL versions.
