I don't know the mechanics of Omnimaga and if editing a message bumps a topic. So just in case...
You don't get notified per mail but you will be notified if your in #omnimaga. (I think)
#omnimaga doesn't provide notices for edited messages as far as I know. The "new" marker next to the topic will re-appear, but the topic won't get moved to the top of the topic list.

News / Re: Test SLOVA, a language-learning game!
« on: March 10, 2013, 08:11:21 am »
I caught a small error in my language pack: "kort" had been translated to "short" when it should have been "card". (Both translations are correct, but "short" makes less sense in context and I had already used it once.) I also replaced the spaces in English words with underscores, so both languages should now be free from spaces. Updated version attached.

General Calculator Help / Re: Two Questions about TruSound
« on: March 09, 2013, 07:26:57 am »
- I heard about thepenguin's NyanMem, what does it do exactly, and can I use it to send larger sounds to the calc ?
NyanMem will give you a little bit of extra space, but it can be instable if you don't take care (most notably, you shouldn't garbage collect, because the extra space uses that sector). It's mostly for cases where a sound/video almost fits into your calculator and you're not planning on storing anything else.

The funny thing is that some computer image files even show up with an image icon, even though they cannot be opened.
I think they added icons for all the file types that the Prizm can either open or save. For instance, bmp files can be saved (when taking screenshots) but not opened on-calc.

How are people playing Pokemon Red/Blue etc. on a TI-84+ that only has 480kb of rom?
I don't think it fits unless you have an SE calc.

51
Just one question, Pokemon red, blue are 1,772KB after makeapp. Is that normal?
.8xk files are roughly twice as large as the app will be on-calc. I'm not sure how large those games are supposed to be, but it seems like a reasonable size to me.

About the game's difficulty, do you think I need to tone it down?
No, I think it mostly was because I tried to get into the game quickly to test without really reading the instructions. I'd just bump into words at random, and eventually the stage was filled with gruzzles. It got easier once I did took some time to read it and figured out the basics.

I made a Swedish version. I didn't test it in gameplay much (since I'm a bit bad at this game :P), but I think it should work fine. Is it a problem if I used spaces in the English or Swedish words?

EDIT: I decided to get rid of the spaces in Swedish words since they weren't especially necessary (the only one that actually needs it is "hej då", but spelling it without a space should also work). The updated version also contains a minor font edit (upper two pixels of regular size Ä and Ö) to match the TI-OS font, and a new set was added for weekdays.

Casio Calculators / Re: Prizm Wiki
« on: January 27, 2013, 10:28:20 am »
I have an outdated backup of articles and images that I did manually (dated 2011-06-06). It was probably made while moving the wiki, but I'm not sure. Images were not included since two can be easily found on the internet (fx-CG10 and fx-CG20) and the third one might not be especially useful (a kitten). It's in a 7z file instead of zip because zip doesn't seem to support Unicode characters in filenames. The newest version of the article about .g3a files is available at WikiPrizm (http://prizm.cemetech.net/index.php/G3A_File_Format), but the other articles aren't available there.

Other Calculators / Re: For those wanting to TAS calc games
« on: January 03, 2013, 04:09:14 pm »
(the fact you have to transfer install files before playing them, not a ROM you merely start might complicate stuff)
The game could be placed in ROM (archive) before booting, so that the game only has to be unarchived and not transferred during the recording.

What is an user agent?
A user agent is a string that the browser sends when requesting a page. It contains some basic info about the system, but you could fake it if you want to. For instance, mine currently looks like this:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:16.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/16.0
Which means that I'm using Windows XP and Firefox 16.

Wouldn't that take a long while to update the water, though? If, for example you dig a big hole in the roof of a cavern and there's water above it, but every frame the game checks one map block for possible falling water, out of 3000 blocks, then the water would fall down one block every 10 minutes or so ???.
Every time a block is changed in Minecraft (for example placing or breaking one), it causes what's called a block update in blocks that are next to it (the closest 6 blocks, I think. Or is it 26?) These nearby blocks are then checked for updates, like water moving or a redstone device receiving a signal. If that block changes, it also causes a block update, which can lead to a chain of them in some cases. For example, removing the block under a pile of sand would cause a block update in the bottommost sand block, making it fall. That block would then cause a block update in the block above it, causing another block update, and so on.

Sorry to go off topic, but z80man, PLEASE could you tell me how you got a gb emulator on your casio, and is there a way to run ti games on a casio?

Edit: oh wait, I was on topic, lol, but is there something like ti-boy for casio prizm that converts file to calc format rather than running it as an emulator, or maybe even an emulator (I want Pokemon but emulators are usually too slow but I'm sure GBC will be fine with Prizm if can't use that method)
TI-Boy is actually an emulator. There aren't any emulators for the Prizm right now, and I don't know of any current projects to make one.

this ti cables 2,5 mm to usb works?

No. That cable is only capable of translating TI's linking protocol - it can't transfer arbitrary data.

Or "strumming in alternatively upwards and downwards" ?
This.
But yeah, that is what I thought. The problem is not even alt-strumming but also how to take the calcs in hands to press frets and strum ? ???
Yeah, that could also be tricky. I just imagined that the strum button would be pressed like a normal calc button instead of holding it like a guitar (controller).
