Okay, this is enough. Fuck TI. I'm never going to buy anything from them again.

I never had a camera on me when the glitch happened, but it would look something like this, as if there were a hole in the screen showing part of the previous page you were on.
Are the borders around the screen intentional by TI?

Is it a joke or something? D'aw, no colored text and it's not April 1st... Oh well, hope we get around the limitation like we did in the past :D
Well, Lua on 3.0.2 is possible! It's quite complex for the developer, though...

We never know, though, maybe the hardware will be modified so it is no longer accepting any OS under 2.55MP

EDIT 2.55, not 2.71 X.x
Ah, but that would be a bit stupid of TI. We could just rename 2.43 to 2.55MP. :P
Unless they create something more clever, that is...

On the other hand, I just realized something: Since it was released after OS 2.55MP came out, chances are none of the previous OS versions will work O.O
Why not? The normal 84+ doesn't have any downgrade protection at all. If it's going to have the same feature set as the original 84+, additions to the OS (like what happened with the 83+SE) aren't going to be necessary - you can just put any 84+ compatible OS on it. (Maybe even WFRNG OS ;D)

TNOC would be quite hard to block, I think. Lua, though...

I'll look into Crabcake.

Oh, yes, and I just uploaded to the omni downloads section and ticalc.org. I'll add links when the files are approved.

Omnimaga Downloads are always automatically approved.
Only if you have a huge amount of posts. :P

I'll buy myself a TI or two then, thank you!
I'd recommend a TI-84+ Silver Edition, or the TI-84+ in case you don't need the extra 1 MB of memory on the SE or if you can't find the SE for purchase. The plain 84+ is much more common.
I know for sure it's not able to graph things, no. And I assume that's vital here?
Yep, it's vital. I don't think it'll be able to run anything that's more advanced than a quadratic solver...

The TI-83+/TI-84+ is very common around here, and there are lots of programs for it. Some people also use the Nspire, usually because their school forces them to, but it sucks.

The calculator which I'm a proud owner of is a Casio fx-82ES, I guess it's a very common one since I bought it just to be able to survive math class in school. Is there anyone who could recommend me a nice little game for that type?
Casio calculators (except for the newly released Prizm) aren't very popular here, so I'm not sure if there's anyone who knows...

I can't send files to my calc anymore after updating the OS
TI-Connect is probably just trying to screw with you a bit. It happens all the time.

I have no idea whether this category is the right one or not to post this topic in. If this is misplaced I blame it on myself.  ::)
There's another section for introduction topics.
So I found this site through trodgor.57o9.org, an IRC server which is pretty much dead right now. Calculators have always interested me, or at least that's been one of my biggest interests since I saw this site.
I've never heard of that network... You're pretty much the only one that I know of who discovered this site via IRC.
fluent in Swedish.

So what can it do for math (a calc is made for math after all, some people seem to have forgot this :) )
2.53MP and 2.55MP? Well, they support MathPrint, which makes stuff look more like what they are like in math books, instead of just linear rows of numbers. You also get improved fraction support, and other minor functions.

so you said 2.43 is good? What features does it have that aren't in the 2.22?
There aren't any groundbreaking features, but it has minor new stuff that's good, and improved stability. It also supports PTT, but that's not really a feature...

2.43 is great. Use it!

There's also 2.53MP and 2.55MP, but they're bad.
OS 3.0 is for the Nspire, not the 84+.
