Sigh.... This world is going mad... You really can't deny that. Companies that we have looked to... Sony, and now TI (not quite as bad as Sony)... IMO, TI is actually worse than Sony... The PS3 is still good for playing games (well, not now that PSN is down, but usually) but the Nspire is just crap.

Wasn,t there also a long delay after the No that's not hit text? Maybe it was only in the Axe Parser version, though.
I can't remember any delay in the versions I've played, which are the 86 version, the 83(+) BASIC version, the 83+ Asm version, the 83+ OS version, two PC versions, the PC OS version (I never got Nick's password in that one because my keyboard didn't work) and my own versions.

Wait, so it's possible to display add-ins at different locations than the menu? I'll have to check the wiki for more info I think...
Yeah, it's possible to make "links" to pretty much everything from eActivities. I don't think that you'll figure out more by looking at the wiki though, because it's mostly about technical details of the file formats and not what you can do with them

Is GCC the Cemetech Prizm SDK?
GCC is the compiler of the newest Prizm SDK. GCC isn't the compiler if you use Simon's Mini-SDK, though.

1545: You automatically knew to highlight this to read it. And you lost the Game before you even read it.
I didn't have to highlight it. And sadly, I didn't lose the game until I read it...

At least Casio has been more perceptive to our needs than TI's. I believe Casio is up to something big for the Prizm, but I'm not sure what it is yet. When I did contact them it sounded like it had something to do with images.
Picture Plot is the only thing they've been taking about for a while. Didn't you notice that?

@Mikehill, I know of at least two different CAS systems currently being written.
Nice. Has there been any word of a Prizm CAS model?
No. Casio hasn't said anything.

Note: From what I remember, the CX doesn't support MSD mode, meaning you still need to get through the hassle of using a connectivity software to transfer files between your calculator and the computer and forums are still gonna get flooded with "Calc not detected by computer" help threads. The Prizm supports mass storage device mode.
To be honest, I've been having some trounble with making my computer detect my Prizm... But it's still much easier to use that the route TI chose. Ah ok weird. Hopefully it doesn't get worse with the time as the Prizm gets more popular. But again I had the same thing happen with certain USB flash drives before.
I was using the USB cable I got from TI earlier. I've switched to using the Casio cable now, and it works every time

I discovered some new stuff about type 1 add-ins. The wiki has been updated.
The first set of names is displayed on the main menu, and the second set is displayed in eActivities only. The icon that we thought was monochrome actually supports colors (only eight, though... The same ones as in Casio-BASIC), and it's displayed in eActivites only.
For those of you who don't know how to include add-ins in eActivities: Create a new eActivity (or use an existing one), press F2 (STRIP) and select the add-in or pre-existing menu item that you want to include.

When you create an 8xp file from a file that's sent from your calc, TI Connect adds a comment that says something about "program file" and then the date it was created. When sending an 8xp to your calc, the comment is obviously not transfered to the calc, because the calc does not store comments.

Is it "Have you seen the Nspire CX CAS"-style?

Why not just get the regular and load CAs on it if you need it. They have OSLauncher and a tutorial on how to do it.
I'm thinking about doing thta to mine so I can do some of the math it lets me do.
Why not get a CAS (which is cheaper) and run the 84+ emu on it using OSLauncher?

This seems to be nice and flexible. There are a few things I noticed, though...
You say that the ID bytes are bytes 1 & 2 of a packet and that the size bytes are bytes 2 & 3. Aren't the size bytes supposed to be 3 & 4? What is the purpose of the packet of the type 00 00? Why is the 00 02 packet necessary? Don't we already know the name of the file? Also, limiting files to 8 characters is a bad idea. The Prizm OS can handle more than 8, but it usually only displays 8. (This also applies to the 01 05 package - limiting ourselves to 8 chars might be bad.) And why do you use FF instead of 00 as null? In the 00 03 packet, why is 55 needed? Is it necessary to have both 00 01 and 00 04? For 00 11, I recommend that you use some kind of standard, for example ISO 639-3. Are shells allowed to run programs even if the 00 12 checksum isn't present? I think it's a good idea to make it possible, but to prevent programs from running if there's an invalid 00 12 packet. Is it possible to have 16-bit icons in 01 01? And can there be more than one 01 01 package, in case the file includes multiple icons for different viewing modes/shells?
