The OS jumps to the program as if it's a subroutine, so you can just rts without generating any serious errors.
Are you sure about that? I've seen discussions on IRC where people have said that it's not like that...

Yeah I agree that one of those would be nice. If you want the TOuchpad, you should try to get it with the 84+ keypad, though, and if it's used on Ebay, I don't think you can request a free 84+ keypad from TI like you would with a brand new calc, because the previous owner might have already done so.
Why would someone buy an Nspire, get an 84+ keypad and sell the calc? What is he going to use the keypad for if he doesn't have a calc?

Hmm... I don't like translucent stuff on my site. They slow the shit out of old computers down. I remember on MySpace such things would cause my browser to scroll at 1.5 frames per second.
On anything below dual-core and 256 MB video cards, the site will be unbrowsable.
Yep. Omni is already incredibly slow on one of the two computers I use, so I would recommend that translucency isn't abused.

Yeah true. As for the 84+ keypad, they're still included on the Nspire pages, encouraging people to request one, but I wonder how long this will last...
It's just there to trick everyone into believing that the Nspire has 100% TI-84+ compatibility...

I don't understand the purpose of this at all...

Wait, Lua? We knew about that back then?
Yep. We're really good at knowing what kind of stuff TI will make.

LISTEN UP EVERYONE -- I FOUND OUT THE ANSWER Ti-Connect is incredibly stupid. It will not allow you to transfer files to your calculator unless you are running the latest operating system on your calculator. For me, as soon as I upgraded to 2.55 mp for TI-84+, everything worked perfectly. The reason that when you reboot w/o internet connection and it works fine is that TI-Connect always connects to the internet upon boot-up to check if you are running the latest OS. Don't ask me why. It's either a blindingly stupid bug, or a stupendously short-sighted feature. Tell all your friends.
That's not right... I've been using 2.43 ever since I got my calc, and it has always worked for me. (Well, not always... TI Connect is quite stupid no matter what OS you use >_>)

I merged both topics.
Also a NES emulator would probably be a bit hard, because it's a different processor to emulate than the z80. The Game Boy processor was closer to the z80 so it was easier to emulate.
That said, as Yunhua98 points out, you should start with a smaller project if you are new to TI programming. Mario is a huge project to undertake and is not recommended for anyone that has less than one year of programming and when I say one year, I really mean non-stop.
Hey I have been programming for almost a year
In what language?

annoyingorange, please don't edit your post if someone has replied to it. It's incredibly confusing. You should only edit if no one has posted after you.

Wow.. they did not remove 3.0.1 only because of the bricked calcs...
http://education.ti.com/calculators/products/US/os-update/
Due to an update issue with TI-Nspireā¢ handheld operating system (OS) and TI-Nspire computer software, we have temporarily removed select versions of 3.0 from our website. An update to TI-Nspire version 3.0 will be available by mid-May. If you have already updated your handheld's OS or your software successfully, there is no cause for concern. It will function normally. We regret any inconvenience. What do you mean? They're talking about the bricking, nothing else. They just don't call it "bricking", because not everyone knows what that means...

He could resize them in the software he uses. THat said it looks nice. Also Yeong I like the pixel art version, except that for some reasons, she seems to be giving us the finger
Aren't those her arms?

That said, now M$ forces us to buy the 360 with the kinect included, so now the Xbox is overpriced too...
wtf encrypted Lua files (which would require them to release a new version of their Periodic Table)
Nope, it's already 0D-compressed. It's correctly compressed.

We probably make up ~1% of their calc sales.
Way less.

What if they just make sure that all documents are properly encrypted instead of removing the interpreter? It seems likely, and it would allow TI to use Lua but not us.
Eh, true, but then why wouldn't they just make those docs a part of the OS?
Because they're TI. They can't think at all. And what if they would release new docs in the future? It would be pointless to create an OS update every time that happens.

I've managed to get it running now, with a bit of help from jim and alberthrocks. However, I need some more help... I used the Software Manager to install Wine and TiLP, but now I have no idea where to find them. They don't seem to show up in the main menu.
