Nice to see you contributing, ScoutDavid! I might use some of these. Do you prefer to go by ScoutDavid in credits or your real name?

...okay, I've finished my 7 pages of calculus homework, but I've got a few papers to do as well, so progress will be slow...so I'll post what I have right now. Includes the spritefix.

* JustCause goes off to transfer the files

EDIT: This will take a long time.

I'd like to see the character as a sprite instead of a small square. Are you going to replace it eventually?
Next Update.

Yeah sorry about that, I thought about adding one, but I have so many subforumks to create now for projects that I didn't feel like adding much.
Fair 'nuff.

Will the next update be the final?
Short answer: No.
Long answer: I have no idea what features I'll end up putting in this game, I haven't done much level design, and I'm considering a level editor. I'm committed to finishing this project and making it awesome: beyond that, I can't promise anything, least of all a date.

;D

Lol, imagine TI in this comic:
-img removed for space reasons-
"What, you need more than 100 pixels in any direction? What the hell are you doing with these things, programming?"

My suggestion: increase the starting difficulty and slow the difficulty gain. 0-1200 is a joke...it's boring to play through

Love the project!

216x384 reso with 65535 colors ... that's pretty good for a calc.
Is it a bad sign that we think of that as high resolution? :)

Any ideas when final version will be released?

* JustCause mumbles something about a subforum

I hardcoded the "state saved" into the level data. Kludge get, I know, but I was itching to get the update out. So I plan on moving that to the subroutine and having it display a nice little popup box with "state saved" or "state loaded" depending on the situation.

Other Calc-Related Projects and Ideas / [Idea] Ion Plus
« on: November 11, 2010, 10:02:48 am »
I love Ion. It's a small, fast shell with an intuitive interface (what I look for in a shell, not Intelligent Writeback or passwords). However, I was wondering if anyone was interested in updating Ion to be more amazing than it already is. I've sorted the features I'd like to see by difficulty level...

Easy
2ND also launches programs
Programs without descriptions use their program name in the menu

Medium
Sort key (allows alpha sorting, but doesn't sort every time you load the shell [cough cough Mirage])

Hard
Support for MirageOS programs
Support for DoorsCS6/7 programs

Any takers? Any features I'm missing? Would this be possible or am I just kidding myself?

Gaming Discussion / Re: Super Smash Bros.

quote waaaallllllllllllll

On Super Smash Bros. Brawl, did they fix the issue where online games consisted of only 2-minute rounds?
According to Nintendo, this is not an issue. With Anyone sux. There are codes out for couch-to-couch play tho, meaning you can play online with two people from the same console: only reason I get on anymore.

I also wonder if there's hacking protection, like, will it kick you if you use a ROM hack/action replay?
If you are talking about Brawl:
There's no hack protection, but most hacks will simply cause you to desynch because they don't show up on the other person's console. This is why B+/B-/P:M/BB online play works.
(Brawl+/Brawl-/Project M/Balanced Brawl)
If you are talking about SSB64 on Kaillera:
No, because most people play with cheats on! Have All Characters and Unlock Item Switch are crucial if you want to be well-recieved by the pro SSB64 community (and not piss off Falcon mains). There is autofire detection though, and the ops are fairly good about banning trolls. As for ROM hacks, if your ROMs don't match the game won't start!

Currently I play SSB 64 and SSB Brawl. The original is my favorite. I have played on Kaillera before, but my internet connection is kinda slow. I can play very well with all characters, but Kirby and Mario are my best, DK is my worst. I don't play as much as I used to, but I'd be up for a fight sometime. ^^
Awesome! I go by Miyagi on Kaillera now, we should meet on the new G64.

I think it required a special version of P64, right? Also is Kaillera very populated? Years ago I went on online servers to try SSB online and there were like 2 people where I could connect.
Yes, you need Project 64k, and if you're on Vista/7 you need to swap a graphics plugin as well. As for population, it depends on what time you get on and what server you're on. There are ridiculous amounts of games and available people on the new Galaxy 64 (69.90.34.245:27888) from about 4:00 PM CST on. (also, the new server gives me 3ms ping ;P) If not, GodWeapon and West Wonderland are fairly populated.

Well, it would have to be stripped down for sure. tr1p1ea on MaxCoderz was working on a clone back then but I never saw screenshots. I think it would definitively be a huge undertaking, especially link play and graphics.
Really? I thought there were screenies on that thread...
