Music Showcase / new NES music
« on: June 01, 2014, 01:21:21 pm »
I tracked some new tunes this weekend. I was at a demoparty and the chiptune music there inspired me to make these. It was great fun and I met Utz there.

Have a listen:

I used Famitracker.

As much as I'd like to support calculator peripheral development: I do not own a Nspire so I don't need one of these. It's cool that more people start making their own hardware though!

The server moved to a new machine with 4GB ram and a dual core 2,2GHz cpu.
I also made a new logo:

No need to explain it. I got most of those things installed on my pc and I am not a plundering pirate. I occasionally ignore copyright bullshit because it does not make sense. Example: Why pay for a game's soundtrack if you bought the game? Youtube download dat shit ;)

The wii mini is almost the same size as the regular wii, but you need more space to set it up because you cannot stack stuff on top of it anymore.

I still cannot get a connection. What is up with those servers? Are they having trouble setting it up themselves or did I make a typo in my friendcode?

Thank you for the compliment :3 With most of these projects it's a matter of getting the right parts. If you can find a nes on a chip for example you can fit it in almost any portable dvd player. Just take out the dvd drive and connect some wires.

Gaming Discussion / Portable NES inside a dvd player

I bought this portable dvd player at a flea market a month ago. Today I finally took it apart, ripped out the dvd drive and stuffed an NES clone in it. It has a large battery at the bottom, but I am not sure how long it will last. My guess is: long enough to watch a movie, so definitely long enough to play some games!
