So Doors CS 7 is underway at last. Development is slowly accelerating, as I still have a few more things to finish up for the semester, most prominently the defense of my Master's thesis on realtime face detection and recognition in wearable computing and augmented reality. I also have two finals and a project, but then I'll have a nice chunk of the summer for development. Unfortunately the 11-hour-from-now deadline in my signature is unrealistic (and will be corrected soon), but I have indeed been doing some fairly intense ASM coding. I freed up about 2KB by consolidating routines and moving more of the internal stuff over to the DCS GUI subsystem, I've been doing general stability fixes and optimizations, and yesterday evening I more or less finished porting the popular TabFunc shell expansion (which makes the mouse irrelevant for those who dislike a mouse-based interface) into the shell proper. I'll stop by here occasionally, but if you want more timely updates on development (and want to nag me with feature suggestions and bug reports, which I would very much appreciate), come say hi at Cemetech or #cemetech on efnet. The topic to post suggestions and bug reports in is currently this one, and you can see some more dev screenshots in this topic. Cheers. Here's some eyecandy of DCS6 vs DCS7 to date for your pleasure: PS - oh, and folder backup is indeed a priority for DCS7. Thanks for all the feedback on that particular issue.

OH SO VERY CLEVER LOLOL. As I said on #Cemetech, please at least change the aspect ratio of the screenie to 3x2 before trying to put one over on the poor little Omninoobs. I'm sure the Omnixperts can see through the humor in your attempt quite readily.

I'd rather not make a final judgment at this point, since I've been on the receiving end of what I thought was an unfair Omnimaga banhammer (which was later resolved ), but I did see Randomist's behavior in #tcpa and other channels as violating common netiquette.

I strongly agree with Super Speler and DJ_Omnimaga. Michael_V intimated to me in #tcpa that he thinks the featuring standards have gotten less strict under his administration, but I disagree. I think they've gotten maybe not more strict, but certainly more biased. For example, TiLP 1.04 gets an article? "Zomg, we added 200 lines of code to send OSes over TiLP! Hip hip hooray!"

Thanks again. MV said he will consider featuring if I "polish" it a bit based on his suggestions.

It's four channel, and it can be modulated to produce the same sound range as .mod music. And congrats, I'm quite the fan of your music.

QuoteBegin-DJ Omnimaga+22 Jul, 2007, 1:07--> QUOTE (DJ Omnimaga @ 22 Jul, 2007, 1:07) | i hope this get featured, but apparently michael v is against it a bit because of the spam he got via email about the game. I think this is what made contra 83 not get featured last time
hopefully he will change his mind because it's a great game |
Spam? I think some of the Cemetech members might have emailed him about it, but that's what ticalc.org's About page says to do. That seems kinda prejudiced if "many people like it" == "spam". Edit: And since when is he the omniscient guru about who gets to be feature? There's other news editors too.
