It would probably take a day to extract a 1Mb archive.

TI-Nspire / Re: KJV Bible for the NSpire???« on: February 15, 2014, 07:11:39 pm »
Please don't use nPDF, it's too buggy. I need to improve it, but never get time.

Also, use xjvf instead of xzvf since its compressed with bzip2.

I updated the Hackspire Wiki page at http://hackspire.unsads.com/wiki/index.php/Linux#Newer_device_tree_kernel_status. Is the rest of the page up to date?
Also, can you tell what should be added to the dts files for the entries that say "Should be a matter of adding a few lines to the device tree"? I am using an Nspire CX, and I finally got the device tree kernel to build and run a few days ago. 170
TI-Nspire / Re: CAS on Touchpad Inspire 3.6« on: February 10, 2014, 06:29:47 pm »
No, there isn't, until the nLaunchy developers find a new exploit in the new Boot2. This assumes you are running boot2 3.2.4. Go to Settings->Status->About to check.

Here is my Trisquel desktop, with KDE. I am using the Oxygen theme and Trisquel's default wallpaper (this is not the default in KDE though):
Spoiler For Spoiler: BTW the widget in the bottom-right corner is Conway's Game of Life. 173
Web Programming and Design / Re: Prefered Browser« on: February 05, 2014, 07:50:47 pm »
I use Abrowser, the modified Firefox of the Trisquel project (a completely free software distro). It's basically a rebranded Firefox with an free software-only addon list. Other than that and Ubuntu's Firefox patches, it's exactly the same as stock Firefox. It's rebranded only because of trademark issues (like Iceweasel).
EDIT: Should I put other or Firefox? 174
Ndless / Re: ndless 3.2« on: February 04, 2014, 10:32:36 pm »
No. Flash is a closed, proprietary format, and the best free software player is Gnash. Probably would consume a lot of resources on a low-spec device like this.

ASM / Re: [ARM/Nspire] Drawing sprites« on: February 01, 2014, 06:53:27 pm »
I dont know ARM asm, but each pixel is a short int in the 16-bit high color format.

Hey, i know you!
Have some peanuts: For the Ndless SDK, see http://hackspire.unsads.com/wiki/index.php/C_and_assembly_development_introduction_on_Linux. Should work on OS X, but idk where you'll get the build deps. Maybe ask tangrs, if he still uses OS X. 179
General Calculator Help / TI-Nspire CX CAS not charging« on: January 19, 2014, 09:48:17 pm »
I left my Nspire in the car in freezing weather (I know, not a good idea) and now I found that it doesn't charge (although the calc works fine). I know it's not a battery problem because I can charge the same battery in my other calc.
So how should I try to troubleshoot this problem? Edit: it started working yesterday, i'll post if there's any more problems. 180
General Calculator Help / Re: TiLP can't find calculator« on: January 11, 2014, 12:48:46 pm »
Do you have the udev rules installed? You have to install those to run TiLP as a normal user. Follow the instructions in lpg/tilp/tilibs/libticables/trunk/CONFIG.
EDIT: I didn't know you were stuck building TiLP. On a Debian-based system, run (as root): apt-get install git autoconf automake libtool libglib2.0-dev zlib1g-dev libusb-dev libgtk2.0-dev libglade2-dev libsdl1.2-dev gettext bison flex groff texinfo xdg-utils libarchive-dev intltool |
