General Calculator Help / Re: Opening a TI-Nspire CX CAS
« on: April 15, 2013, 06:50:36 pm »
You can open the CX with a 1.6mm flat screw driver, like the one I used in this picture :

Is that navigator wireless adapter being used for WiFi or is it actually for a navigator system thing?
Euh .. for now, nobody can use the TI-Nspire WiFi driver to get on the internet, if it's your question (WiFi != internet).

News / Re: A theme editor coming for Ndless 3.1
« on: April 13, 2013, 01:55:39 am »
I might work on this to change the GUI of Nspire itself and make it look like a Wii or something :) I'm learning Nspire C and porting Genesis Plus isn't easy, so I'm doing littler projects to learn more when I hit a stump.

This project doesn't work. It throws me the classic "Your version of Ndless is too old!" error! Why am I geting this so often?
Because your Ndless is too old ? You need r680.

TI-Nspire / Re: nspire Linux Questions
« on: April 10, 2013, 08:01:49 pm »
nspire-linux-builds
The tiny image (initrd) should contain links and the necessary stuff to use it properly (ifconfig).
The X11 image contains X, as the name says :D
I have a question about those 'images':
Why can't it fit in a initrd.tns file ?
I mean, why is it a .tar.gz and not a .tns like initrd ? It would fit in a CX, wouldn't it ?
Well, my real question is : what is initrd.tns format ? ext2 ? ext4 ? tar.gz ?

News / Re: TI-Planet arithmetic contest !
« on: April 05, 2013, 04:40:06 pm »
If you find out how to interface Ndless with the calculator app, you can.
Indeed, you have to program a 'function', which will return a usable result.
Also : If you find how to interface Lua, you can.
Why "if .. you can" ? Because we know that it is fairly impossible to run Lua from TI-Basic from a Function (It is possible through a Program though).
For Ndless, I'm looking into it since 1hour, I cannot see any beautiful way to hook the catalog and the builtins (I may look at the wrong part of the problem).
Challenge is not forbidden, but strongly not recommended =)

Sorry, I don't get it Levak. ??? I was talking about me preferring a z80 calc as a prize in an nspire contest because I already have an nspire so I don't need another one (I would gladly accept another nspire, though :P)
EDIT @ adriweb: I would never see a z80 as an inferior calc. In fact I place the z80 and the nspire at about the same level.
Ah, I thought your were saying it was better to have a z80 because non-CAS Nspire are useless (which was true before nlaunch CX)

-I'M fairly sure that Omnimaga loads very slowly in Europe
Omnimaga loads fine for me.
Some people have issues loading Omnimaga in locations other then North America due to the fact that our server is in NA. If you ping us you'll notice that you don't have the best ping.
I myself get a ping of around 38ms, I'm assuming yours will be much higher.

Just some answers, unrelated to the topic :
-TI-Planet takes a long time to load in North America
It depends on your FAI and suscribtions. TI-Planets pings google.com (not google.fr) at 1.2ms
BTW, have you tried https://tiplanet.org ?

-TI-Planet shoutbox often fails to load.
This is a bug in the shoutbox : when someone deletes a post, the chat remains blank until someone posts a new message.
It has recently been noticed as an understood bug, even if it's an old one...

-TI-Planet's design is Web 2.0-heavy, so a lot of Omnimaga members would no longer be able to visit the site due to outdated computers (as guests, your settings are not saved properly, such as disabling smart navigation and switching to lite theme).
I agree the website could be heavy for non-recent computer. I apologizes for that, but I was guided by new HTML5 features, developping on an i7 ...
On the other hand, the settings are saved properly in the cookies. If your browser cleans those cookies, then it's your problem. I never encoured any problem, even in guest mode. Also, if you're logged in, the settings are saved in your account settings (no more cookies).

-TI-Planet is French by default. It would need to be English by default with a very large to see option to switch to French. Else a lot of users would be turned away. In fact, I think a slogan would have to be added clearing stating that this is a bilingual site.
This is a deep problem, since a lot of strings are hardcoded in the template / sources.
It would require a lot of work to make it properly bilingual..
