Nobody has thought about the fact that the entire TI OS could be coded in Lua ? Look: - TI was really fast to implement this Lua interpreter (since 05/2010) - Same Way of programming, Lua's objects and "toto.a, toto.b, toto.c etc .." variables, math.eval("DelVar "..varname) and expr("DelVar "&varname) - Same way of TNS structure, in the XML files, we've got "<gg:VAR></gg:VAR>" token for the widget variables, in the Lua's interpreted method we've got the "gc:" object
Thus, only one question : Can Lua be compiled ? or just directly interpreded by the ARM core ?

I know CAML, Python and many other languages, so theire is nothing new for me in lua, except a new Lego game to assemble object and recursivity. =)

Remember that for now, TI don't let officially the public to program in this language. It is for now a private language and we need to hack the *.tns to extract Problem1.xml from it as we can make for OS 1.1. For now, no one knows if TI will diffuse freely the SDK, will sell it, or keep it for its developpers.

First Lua game on the TI-Nspire
Don't forget to add 2 new options in your emulator "Export XML" "Import XML" By the way, a third option "Nspire -> PC *.tns download" could be great :p

... whereas in the Nspire Lua API, we've got a Graphic Component/Content/Controller (choose the one you like) named gc. For example :
gc:setFont() gc:setColorRGB() gc:setPen() gc:drawRect() gc:fillRect()
etc ...

I mean brick it with the OS
Ah, ok, you're talking about the OS 2.0.0.1188 incident. One time over 14 updates I've got, and no more than 15 guys for this update. It means that the risk is really really small.

What are the chances of bricking my calculator if I do that. I heard about that happening to some people
To do what ?? Removing the boot2 update ? There is no chance to break the calc because if the update file is invalid, TI-Nspire Computer Link Software will refuse update.

Remove the boot2 update from the 3.0 update file with TNOC and you will can downgrade later if you feel the need to.
