So, I'm making a game in pure BASIC with dual-layer characters, and in it, the main character picks up a gun. I could add right/left flipping to look cool, but I'm not sure what combos to use. EDIT: Whoops, forgot to add, I'm using turn-by-turn RPG battles, so a flipping sprite to see gun direction isn't crucial. EDIT 2: And the game is a top down view, so no jumping or anything, either. Option 1: No flipping, but that means a cool sprite for holding the gun. Option 2: Same starting sprite, but flipping, using the Pt-on(X,Y,3 to get the little cross Option 3: Regular X for starting sprite, then the following for flipping (also using the pt-on cross) If you have other ideas, please post them!

Actually, both are possible. If you use Pt-on(X,Y,3) It makes the mark a cross, which is what I use.

These look great! Btw, how are you displaying the map? I know the layers are shifted, but I mean the actual routine. It seems really fast.

Now we just need a WFRNG OS for a calculator, to complement the one Michael Vincent wrote for the computer...
There's a WFRNG computer OS? I need to try that!
Does it actually work, etc. I mean, is your computer remotely functional after installing the OS?

So, dual-layers....has anyone made one of those huge and awesome charts for shifted dual-layers?

Thanks for the sprite, shmibs. It looks great. If I use the right line commands, it won't take too long, because, yes, I am just using them as stills. Also, I'll take a look at that renderer, Finale TI. Thanks

I'm on my phone right now, so I can't see them, but I'll look when I get back home. Thanks in advance.

So, I'm going to attempt to add the ability to face right or left. Unfortunately, this is a little difficult. I have two options. The first is to start with a regular X, and when the gun is picked up, do this for the flip: Or, I can do this, where the first sprite is the original character, and the next two are after the gun is picked up. Or, if you have any other ideas, I am open to suggestions.

Oh, well, that's okay. Thanks for the suggestion, DJ. I look at those. In the meantime, I'll work on the storyline and other little goodies.

Sometimes I coded/played calc RPGs typing in one hand, leaving the calc on the desk. Hence why I could make so much games in short amount of time in classes without getting caught
Lol, I do that all the time. I make sure not to make too much noise, though, it is suspicious if you are constantly typing on your calc in history.
