Well, my thinking is that if people start out with Axe as opposed to BASIC, then they'll get really good at it, like people have done with BASIC. It's kind of like the theory that little kids learn foreign languages better than adults.

Welcome. Its good that new programmers are coming in with Axe. I can't wait until someone starts with Axe and gets really good at it, like others have done with BASIC and ASM.

well, U of Tulsa has a good comp sci program, and if you're interested in anything technology/engineering, U of Missouri-Rolla (a.k.a. Missouri Science and Technology) is a good place to go. I think Dartmouth has a good computer program, also. However, if you're looking for a good buy, Truman State University (in Kirksville, MO) is a very good school with a good computer science program. I think in-state tuition is $11,000, maybe. Out-of-state is $14,000, I believe, but you'll want to look that up.

Oh, speaking of winning the game, the link at the bottom of my sig shows you how to do that.

Where do you live? Or is that not an issue? I am still in high school, but I know of several good CompSci/Engineering schools.

Don't we all do that every time?

Soon you will realize that 99% of the time we use a TI calculator we use it for gaming
I thought that was solving quadratic equations or making a program to do it for us. To free yourself from constantly losing the game here (which you will do), click here. Oh yes, welcome, and enjoy your time here.

513. You have every single file on ticalc stored on some hard drive, even those that you can't use.

508. Most of your hard disk space is taken up by zip files (and the extracted folders) filled with files with a .8x* extension.

Well, I meant that we've erased the Bungie-ness. we were a good community before that, too.

Hm.... well I thought that was more specific toward console game clones, but I do see your point. I've just seen too many beginner RPG's that weren't ports that were awful and they only uploaded them because they actually completed a game.

Exactly. It also seems they are trying to squash our creativity. Who cares if we make games? As long as we don't play them in class, there shouldn't be a problem. At least we're being creative and making the games, instead of just sitting down at an xbox or ps3 and playing them.

How about this one? Not sure if everyone would agree with it, but I like it.
- Do not, do not, do not try an RPG as your first program/game. You will fail. Try simpler stuff first. To make a decent RPG requires quite a bit of programming knowledge, planning, time, etc. Get all that from starting low and working your way up.

yep. which tells you the programming part of the company sucks, and the manufacturing part is great.
