Glad to see my two votes counted for a win in each. (Pacman and Axe) Great job Quigibo, well deserved in my opinion. Pretty great showing this year, I think there were quite a few voters this year as well. At least it seemed that way. Cant wait to see what next year's POTY brings!

From an assemblers point of view, I didn't like all the crap that was being put out there BASIC or otherwise. Of which I am guilty of doing as well. It got to a point in the community where there where so many duplicate games ASM and BASIC that the bashing, I feel was because of the mediocrity that was coming out from everyone. I'm not so sure the attitude was preventing the beginning ASM coders from creating their ideas, it's just that there was so much that we didn't know. But you're right we should never try and discourage someone even if we ourselves don't know it's possible.

I started out learning BASIC and I know I always had a deep respect for the coders like Ztrumpet and Bryan who did what they did in pure BASIC. That goes for some of those great enhanced-BASIC games as well. When the developer spends the time to make something new they're going to get respect and admiration. As developers we have to push ourselves to do new things or make old things better. Nobody wants to see another falldown game unless you do something that makes us stop and saw wow that is impressive no matter what the language. That is what our community was missing in the past and that to me is what caused all the backlash. Quality always trumps quantity.

Ztrumpet congrats on making an excellent game. For pure BASIC I don't think it can be topped. Speedwise/graphicwise it is top notch. Congrats on the feature it is well deserved.

Yeah as for the 83 version, I don't think I will work on it much anymore. Axe is far and away the best option. I may just finish up what I had left with it so you still could make stuff and have it portable between the 86 version.

Ah logisim...I had to make a garage door opener with it for a final project in one of my classes.

Well when I can actually get in with my PS3 the game is pretty good. There are spawn issues, lag, system freezing, mics not showing up and party issues just to name a few. Some of those issues most certainly came up in testing and yet they didnt address them yet and still have yet to address them. I feel cheated that I bought a half finished game. There are brief instances of awesomeness but I am generally pissed at Treyarch

As far as I am aware the threads should now be fixed. Phpbb3 does some messed up stuff when creating a forum thread. I think the permissions should be fixed. Let me know if it still doesnt work.

TI Z80 / Re: Sonic Physics
« on: November 08, 2010, 03:54:10 pm »
I had sonic rolling off of ramps and slopes of various degrees. But that was working off of Digi's older 82 assembly code. In his later versions I'm pretty sure he had sonic going around loops. I remember we ran into an issue with the loops though. Early on the degree of the loop's starting position had to be modified. But I think we had that all worked out. Each of the coins had their own physics too. They would bounce around the screen. They were their own individual objects. I think he used some of that in Robot War 2. You can see some of the objects that the main character has bounce around when he drops them from his item list.

But your physics look really good. With those actual values from the site, we could craft the physics to be identical to the original. Which I know ours were not. I have been getting back into assemble here off and on during the wee hours of the night. I havent worked on Sonic again yet, but I am working on some stuff.
