Miscellaneous / Re: Quick Survey About You and Omnimaga.
« on: November 07, 2013, 07:42:08 am »
Spoiler For Spoiler:
1) How did you first learn about Omnimaga and what aspect influenced you to stay?
When I learnt Axe, I used a French tutorial (by kindermoumoute, I and nikitouzz are now the redactors in addition to him), and Omnimaga was quoted as a place where it's good to be. So I came to check, and since I had great fun here, I decided to stay :P

2) Do you feel as if we have similarities outside of programming naturally. If so, what are they? (i.e. MLP fans)
I feel like many people are around my age here (around 16), and I realized that my music tastes were kinda usual here, that's a good thing ;D

3) For what reason(s) do you frequent Omnimaga over other sites like Cemetech or TIPlanet? (Or vise-versa)
I think the community is more active than Cemetech's and more specialized in z80 calcs than TI-Planet (especially for Axe), but I stay over the three sites rather equally.

4) Do you consider the community of Omnimaga to have a main goal(s)? (if so, what are they?)
I think the main goal of the community is to have the best fun possible and to amaze other people with projects, altogether. That's how I feel at least.

5) How do you feel your relationship is with other members?
What I like about Omnimaga is that I feel like everyone is my friend :P This is by far one of the most friendly community I saw, every nationality mixed up.

6) Do you find that Omnimaga (and calc programming) has helped you in the outside world?
Yeah kinda, because finding solutions to problems helps think better and more efficiently, and we're always here to help each other (that's the point of a community heh).

7) What is your favorite inside joke/lingo?  (i.e. Holy Necropost Batman!  or Welcome peanuts etc.)
I think it's Sorunome being the Almighty Server Pony-master.

8 ) What country are you from?
I'm French, from France.

I don't think that putting user levels right in the compiled game is a good idea. IMO, you should build an on-calc (separate ?) level editor that can generates TNS files that can be loaded by the main game. This is easy enough, since you just have to generate files that follow the same scheme than your hard-coded levels.

Congrats Soru ! :D Also good luck to all participants !

What I think he means is that the program should be capable of loading and playing external levels. If levels are handled with functions (which can not be used in external files), you can write a small on-purpose scripting language that the main program will interpret and generate the level from.

More objects to come of course. We can do many things in one day, as someone already said before me.

If DCS8 chains hook, you'll have to run this hook first and then DCS8.

If DCS8 supports hook chaining, everything will run fine. If it doesn't, the last hook installed will take the place of the old one.

Holy necropost update !

I got my new TI-84+CSE 5 hours ago, and I was shocked by how slow the program editor is <_< so I decided to port this hook to the 84+CSE, and I also improved it since you can now scroll to the end of the program by pressing ON+down arrow :)

I have no surface texturing, it's only inidividual 3D dots placed on faces o.O

And I want to stick with classic 2D menu.

I would have to add surface texturing only for a menu >.< forget that, I'll go with good ol' title screen (for instance Spyro543's one).

Mh, it doesn't look like the game, I don't know how to say that ... I think we should see more the themes of space and 3D in it.
