Other Calc-Related Projects and Ideas / Death to Adam contest« on: January 15, 2007, 07:50:00 am »
*does some thinking*
K, they escape safely to some random island far away from civilization. There they find a tribe of primitive humans with great skillz in magicks and exploding stuff. Jack tries to bargain with them, to exchange his crew for their secrets of magic. However, in the tribe's own language, "I would like to make a deal with you" meant "There will be placed on your island a curse of doom, unless I can have all your women!" The tribe was angry, and summoned a dragon which ate Jack and the crew, and Adam too. Not much room to introduce the real main character there... 408

You could combine all those ideas you like so much:
The 'main character' left off on his quest to save the world. He got to the capital city and the palace and had some fun with the king's son/daughter/other... The king is furious and hires some scientists to invent a new weapon to be used just for this naughty Adam, thus you have the guns you said were included (but they're still out of place). Just as the king is about to shoot Adam, captain Jack Sparrow comes out of nowhere and rescues him (just for the randomness factor). Then their boat sinks in the middle of the ocean 410

He'd have given a link already if it was really done. So another contest eh? Maybe I'll try to get something in 411

I see the 84 becoming the most powerful mod calc we've ever seen.
We're only starting to realize their potential as music players with Realsound and the extra mem. Online capabilities aren't too far away. But after that, what's left to do? I'll tell you: the 89 and its mod race. Luckily it won't stop ait internet with its extra power. Who knows how far that will go before TI releases the next TI-8# model... and yes, that's my clever way of excluding the Nspire from being a real calc. V200 and TI-92 at least have numbers so they count... 413

I know all about that JREF Million Dollar Challenge. So does every other 'real' psychic.
If you just go through there logs of applicants you would notice how they make them look stupid. I know of a case where the conversations were edited to make JREF look better, and even fake emails were added in. And if the applicants don't suddenly stop replying, they usually find a way to stop the preliminary testing from happening. I read one about a guy who could summon UFOs and was going to do it January last year in LA, until in late December when he brought up the fact that there may have to be armed guards at the park and JREF took the opportunity to disqualify him without looking back. Sure, some of those applicants are fake as hell, but the ones that aren't get ripped off. This is not an unbiased organization trying to advance science. It is a cult of noobish skeptics that would explain anyone passing the test as a guy who got lucky with quantum randomness, or a cheater. Also, the prize money is worthless bonds. [end rant] But I would enter to prove THEM fakes; I would just need a perfect testing procedure. I think spinning the wheel thing inside a vacuum would do it. No wind interference. 415

Both of those ideas are nearly identical so I am.
Maybe not a heart attack, have the pre-game scenes show him fighting the real game's first boss, and he loses/dies/gets eaten (if its a dragon. Dragon eating him sounds funny) 417

One day a homeless noboby self-named Adam was walking through an enchanted forest. The path was narrow, but Adam had great balance... Until he sneezed and fell of the path and into the swamp, never to be seen again.
I like this of my ideas most. 419

One day Adam was practicing his 1337 sword skills. He lost his grip and his arm... well, it never forgave him, and it never came back

Adam is walking across the road, and jumps out of the way of a car about to hit him. The next day, he finds the guy that almost ran him over and tries to run him over. That guy jumps out of the way, and reveals the brick wall hidden behind him. Splat.
It might help to know the setting of the RPG. Not all of them happen in distant lands of magic... |
