QUOTE (Liazon @ Jul 25 2006, 07:06 PM)
I'm sad that pkmn will depart the GBX handhelds.  oh well, it would have really made me sad a long time ago.

Who says it'll stay for DS? Hopefully I'm not the only one that knows about the Game Boy Evo.

Other Calculators / Easter eggs in TI-OS(es)?

o.oblink.gif lol...
Proof that the calc OSs are nowhere near optimized; a useless hax'd routine!
It would provide a few laughs in buggy Asm progs. ^^

Right now there are still 386, but the competitive online community is eagerly awaiting the 500 mark with the upcoming release of Diamond and Pearl for DS. I'll add it'll have Wi-Fi battling too. ^^
I could probably advertise PP around on forums that would be allowed on...

So stats are next, after 100 more sprites? The stat/base stat data will take a load of memory from you. It'll depend more on if you decide to have the special stat broken or not; In RBY, the stats were Attack, Defend, Speed, and Special. In all generations since then, Special turned into Sp.Atk. and Sp.Def. I prefer the split, even if it wasn't part of the original games.

Not at all, though maybe my TiFreakWare contest entry. I was going to post some revivals for those soon.

I noticed some Gym Leaders use X-items to raise stats. Brock once used a Full Restore O_o.
I'll be hoping for opponents at the same intelligence level of online battling. So NO RANDINT(!!! :ninja:ninja.gif

Miscellaneous / Stereotypes
« on: June 30, 2006, 01:13:00 pm »
I hate them. Stop them.
I my program calcs, but that doesn't mean I'm a genius with no life! (Well, the no life part is right...)
Stereotypes are bad.

Now my little experience, my real reason for creating this topic...

I was watching TV, and I flipped to the Korean network. Subtitling their shows/news can be fun. ^^
The news segment started, with the english words "OBESITY IN KOREA" flying across the screen. I was fine with it.
The thing flipped between fat people jogging and fat kids being forced to eat vegetables/fruits, until...
They jumped to something like a school gym. I thought to myself, "hmm, exercise. I wonder what sport..."
The camera slowly looked down, eventually enough to see hundreds of large televisions.
WTF! They were doing DDR!!! Literally, I laughed, I cried, I cursed at the ignorance of humanity, I changed the channel.

Phear my crude humor! :knight:knight3.gif
But now I'm wondering if DDR exercise actually works...

Please, the current AI is the reason people think this game is childish and easy. Remaking the original would mean disaster.

TI 68K / Metroid 68k - In TI-BASIC
« on: June 29, 2006, 01:55:00 pm »
Ah, that's alright. You've successfully implemented a jumping system and hopefully gravity and stopping falling (If you can fall onto the pipe (it is a pipe, right?), you should have this then.).

^ That's crazy grammar in there. ^^

You've taken the first big step; just remember to keep walking. ;)wink.gif

Learnable only by Mew. He learns every TM/HM.

Make it a Calc-type attack; super effective to everything. ^^

Unrelated: give the enemies a decent AI. Like for wild pokemon, they are fighting to survive. So moves like Teleport they would use first. And trainers... should fight to win. Set up winning combos, sacrifice someone, just be smarter than the game's trainers were.

Unlikely, unless it's HM 09. In the newer versions there are eight.

Do you mean 5 HMs? ;)wink.gif
That screenshot is nice. Are there that many ThunderStones in the game?
