I'd say at this point I need to either:
-start making the maps, or
-decide which of my +50 weapons will be included in the battle system.

Could you all post your opinions on how many I should have of weapon/beast/spellbook in the beginning of posts?

Honestly...no. :Ptongue.gif
I have been toying with the idea of no scrolling, or rather a full screen shift when you walk off the edge. This would make it easier to place enemies in 'sectors' defined by lists (accessed with expr() as in the examples tifreak8x gave once for the B1337).

Other than that my energies have been in WoM recently.

I too fell to the addictive powers of rebirth. I stopped after I got to the treasure though. But Krid doesn't seem like the type that would just leave...schoolwork possibly?
I might not be here as often because I started reading The Da Vinci Code yesterday. good book ^^

[back ontopic] I haven't tryed Rivereye since Magic 1, I guess I should update.

That might need a seizure warning on it, but I like how you used so many xlib features. :)smile.gif

Miscellaneous / I'm leaving (renamed as "I'm back")
« on: May 11, 2006, 11:06:00 am »
I've been trying to stay out of most major topics recently, for a fear that I might say something wrong and make things worse. Now I realize that was a bad idea.
I do read all the posts, but this one I didn't notice, perhaps because I scroll through posts fast just to get an idea of the conversation. I apologize for so rudely disregarding you kalan, I understand if you decide to leave for a while (not for good, only like you said you would).
With all the recent jumbled confusion here I hope we can accept this as a misunderstanding, nothing seriously major.

This intro is looking good, but why stop at 'good' when it can be 'better' :Ptongue.gif
More constructive criticism then: the ending could use something to draw the eyes back to the "Powered By." Something like inversing the pxl's of the letters, including the underline. Then it reverses that process without reviving the underline. This way it looks like it sparkles :lol:laugh.gif

I'm not sure what this grudge against underline is that I have. It could be because its obsolete in html 4.0...

Other Calc-Related Projects and Ideas / Bottom half of Screen?
« on: May 09, 2006, 09:34:00 am »
The NPC dialogue is a yes, but for normal walking... Random Mmrudan quotes is an interesting idea, but it would have to stop the walking engine to display the quotes with my current text routine, and the old way (If quotevar=1:Text(Y,X,"FIRST QUOTE) is too inefficiant. And then I have to make nice inspirational quotes. :Ptongue.gif
I probably could mod the text-er to do one character per cycle, but still it isn't that fast.

Next suggestion was scroll log; I can't think of anything to put that down with :)smile.gif Except that magic will be in spellbooks not scrolls, which leads me to the idea of a full-on status screen including equipped items and remaining life, etc.

If I missed any posts while typing I apoligize and will edit this soon! :)smile.gif

Just wait another minute while I download/unzip/send. :)smile.gif

(Edit): whoa, w00t, I wasn't expecting that!
Two suggestions: don't overuse your underlining privaledges, and use For( before the real( ;)wink.gif

But awesome scrolling madness!
