Nonlinearity... I'm definitely gonna try to have plenty of that. But, stacking blocks? Come on, this isn't Blockdude Then again, there could probably be some kind of "Tetris Rain" powerup/attack.

I might give that a download to get an exclusive glimpse into the great mind behind some of Basic's best RPGs...

Part of the fun will be taking aspects of Tetris and transmorphing them for this game. Disappearing platforms, anyone? That's the exact kind of thing i was thinking . Disappearing platforms, Blocks that can fall from the sky and crush you, false platforms that drop out underneath you ect. This definitley has some interesting possibilities. *edit* This made me remember the episode of captin n the game master when they went to tetris land. ^_^
I hadn't thought of some of those, but they sound too good to not consider! The only thing that I'm struggling for some creativity with is powerups. I could take the easy way out and make the powerups turn you into the other 6 tetris pieces, but that's just boring.

Test skin's alright with me so far, although the transparency of the fast reply box I didn't like at first. But it definitely "feels" like omnimaga

I'm looking forward to it too. Part of the fun will be taking aspects of Tetris and transmorphing them for this game. Disappearing platforms, anyone?
And just for simplicity, L-Block will be a he.

Liazon's got it for the most part, congrats to him! The anagram was of Alexey Pajitnov, creator of the world famous Tetris.
I'm sure it isn't much of a surprise that I LOVE platformers. My attempts at a Super Mario remake (that I've just about disbanded for now, sorry VBSMB fans!), my still strong obsession with JC's PixelMan game (the original glitchy version that no one can beat except me ^.^), the several hours I've logged on old SMB games newly released to the Wii's virtual console... I'm a platformer nerd. Thus it wasn't long until I wanted yet again to take my chances at making another platformer, but this time a completely original one. Also, around this time, I was active on the forums of gameFAQs.com, a site for Frequently Asked Questions on games. And it just happened to be the time that the site was hosting its Sixth Annual Character Battle: every day another batch of popular video game characters is put in a poll to move to the next round. It was expected that Link would win yet again... but somehow, a small yet well known character managed to take first place: the L-Block from Tetris!
Every hero indeed has a story. Soon you shall all witness the epic story of L-Block - platformer style...

No; that clue's purpose was to direct you to the website that would make reference to the letter L, which is directly connected to the unscrambled anagram when you look at "L" in the right way. Delnar_Ersike is probably the closest then, with his last post. So close that no one can see it...

The person isn't Japanese, but if you want the country it'll be the last clue... *cheers for having a hot topic* It burns my fingers!

I think the font is decent -- in posts. Right here in the fast reply box, it's pretty ugly. I haven't noticed that before.

Not exactly the interpretation of that clue that I was going for, so I'll make it easier (please, someone get the connection soon!)
CLUE: People frequently ask questions about this game.

Still looks like I don't enjoy apex. I'll give one last clue later today, and if you don't get it by then, hahaha

I don't know any Java (it's somewhere on my list of languages to learn, after 6502 assembly and Japanese ), but as for features, it should at least have grayscale, flipping, and rotations. I'm not sure what else can be done or is worth including.
