If you get a BSOD, then it is booting something. Did you change any hardware drivers recently -- or maybe you got a virus of some sort?

How about some falling bombs with explosions and disappearing girders.

Not on a calc! 275

Jumpman 68K / Re: Jumpman« on: November 13, 2010, 07:47:55 pm »Great Jumpman offers a perfect level of difficulty for all players. In general, the higher the level, the more difficult it is. That is one thing that makes it so much fun! If you are able to save games at a certain state, it would be cool to have a tremendously hard level I'm sure I will implement some sort of save feature. However, since each Jumpman level can be completed in less than one minute, I'm not sure it would be worth the programming effort to save in the midst of a level. 277
Miscellaneous / Re: Good bye omnimaga.« on: November 13, 2010, 12:56:03 am »we cleaned about 20 more pounds of dust out of the graphics card.... Assuming your problem is with a desktop PC and if you feel comfortable with a little modification... You can buy a 12 volt fan at your local Radio Shack. Hook it up to the yellow (+12v) and a black (ground), then attach it to the place where the original fan was located -- remove the old fan first. If it doesn't fit perfectly, just attach it with a hot glue gun. Another cheap trick to try. 278
Miscellaneous / Re: Good bye omnimaga.« on: November 12, 2010, 04:51:37 pm »It depends how your parents are and how comfortable you are with working with your hands. But I have fixed similar problems in 3 laptops by taking them apart and using an air compressor on the grate. (just be gentle )Or... Just buy a can of air and blow through the vents where the heat sink grating (or fins) are located. I bet you will see a plume of dust come out. I do this about every 6 months on my laptop... and it always runs cooler afterword. Cheap and easy trick. Worth a shot. For a more thorough cleaning, you may have to take the laptop apart as thepenguin77 suggested; but I don't think that is absolutely necessary. 279

Miscellaneous / Veteran's Day 2010« on: November 11, 2010, 11:12:50 am »
Today is Veteran's Day for the United States of America.
Please take some time today and tell an active duty service member or veteran that you thank them for their service. Are there any active duty service members or veterans at Omnimaga other than myself? If you are, I say "Thank you!" and I salute your service. 284

As always, I appreciate everyone's comments and support.
I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I expect my doctor will release me to go back to work. So, Jumpman progress will slow down a bit when that happens. I still have enemies, enemy waypoints, moving bombs, moving platforms, falling girders, moving ladders, triggers (that cause an action to occur), doors, gunfiring & arrow shooting by Jumpman to implement before the engine is complete. I am considering releasing a beta with a subset of levels before I get all of the above items completed. 285
