TI 68K / Ultima V: General Discussion« on: December 09, 2007, 08:22:00 am »THE POST 13558382 QuoteBegin-Liazon+9 Dec, 2007, 9:18 -->
I don't have an exact count... I guess it depends on what your definition of a secret place is. There are quite a few towns that are hidden by mountains, trees, water, or just simply off the beaten path. - There are 2 world maps. Each map is 256x256 tiles. - There are 32 towns. Each town map is 32x32 tiles and may have up to 5 levels. - There are 8 dungeons. Each dungeon has 8 levels. - There are 9 shrines (including the shrine of the Codex). TI 68K / Ultima V: General Discussion« on: December 08, 2007, 09:37:00 pm »THE POST 13557814 The shrine of Spirituality is now working! The shrine of Spirituality does not exist in the physical world; but there must be a way to reach it. To uncover the mystery of its location, you must talk with the town folk. Good luck! On a side note... I spent the whole day trying to figure a bug when talking to merchants. It turned out to be a very simple logic error -- very easily overlooked. 499

When I vote for a single person I get this Invisionfree message:
However... now that I actually tried voting for 2 people... it worked! :thumbup: 500

I cannot seem to vote -- no matter what I do.
There are definitely more deserving candidates for the win than me. Good luck to all! 502

It is always nice to see news articles for our progressing calc projects and our talented musicians! It is very impressive when you stop and really think about it.
Keep up the great work guys! You are all amazing! :thumbup: 503

You are partially correct... The extra archive space is usable, but it is limited to Apps. 504

You cannot update the hardware. But, by updating the AMS, you can reap more benefits from your hardware -- such as access to more archive. HW1 can have any AMS from v1.00 upto v2.09. AMS v1.xx did not have the assembly program executable size limitation of 8Kb nor 24Kb. You were only limited by the general file size limitation of 64Kb. However, upgrading a HW1 from AMS 1.xx to AMS 2.xx freed up a significant amount of archive space. HW1 has the best LCD controller. The LCD controller uses main memory for video memory. So, if you draw to the LCD buffer it is displayed immediately. The LCD controller could essentially use any memory as the LCD dispaly buffer (as long as a few rules are followed) -- just simply malloc some memory and change the LCD buffer pointer. This makes grayscale very simple on HW1. With HW2, HW3, & HW4, the LCD controller has its own video memory. So, the LCD video buffer must be copied from main memory to the LCD controller's video memory. Unfortunately, this is the job of the CPU. So, to achieve grayscale on these hardware versions, you must manually copy each LCD buffer plane to the LCD memory -- there goes the benefit of the extra 2MHz of CPU speed. 505

You mean far bigger! :rofl: QuoteBegin-Fryedsoft+30 Nov, 2007, 21:52
If you update the HW1 to AMS 2.0x, then you get 700Kb of archive. 506
News / Ticalc.org: The end?« on: November 29, 2007, 10:34:00 am »
I sure hope Ticalc does not fade away.
Maybe we are all in for a big surprise. Site redesign... Staff reorganization... automated file uploads... automated reviews... etc.... But... With such few POTY candidates, it may be better to just wait for next year to hold the POTY competition. It is not as much fun if there is no competition. Ticalc should not compare program submissions to past year's submissions to determine if they should get a feature or not. That is flat-out unfair. It kind of implies that current projects have to be equal to or better than past POTY candidates to even be considered. That is a sure fire way to discourage up-n-coming programmers. @ necro's signature:
That is the biggest bunch of crap I ever heard or read. It kind of reminds me of Algore stating that he invented the internet -- remember that? I can't stop laughing. :bounce::bounce::bounce::bounce: 507

This is a good reason to develop for the GP2X -- it is open source, free development environment, and uses standard SD memory cards. http://www.gp2x.com/ http://www.gp2xstore.com/ 508

I'm not so sure about that... Unless you are talking about the Casio fx-9860g Slim. That is one cool calculator -- much cooler than anything that TI has right now! 509
