wow, how much space did each floppies had?

C64 floppy drives could read a single side of a floppy disk... which could hold about 165Kb. Technically, you could use both sides of a double sided disk but you would have to take the disk out, turn it upside down, and re-insert it into the drive. :paf:tripaf.gif  Wow... has technology changed! :Dbiggrin.gif

PC floppy drives could read both sides of a floppy disk... holding 320Kb I believe.

true, else I'm sure the entire game would weight around 1 MB x.x

Yep... Pretty close!

The original required 8 Commodore 5.25" floppy disks (or 4 PC 5.25" floppy disks) totaling around 1.25Mb of data -- which was HUGE for those days! o.oblink.gif

Geeze, this game's gonna have a Messload of stuff in it! How big do you think final size will be, any idea?

My goal is that it will require less than 225Kb of archive space (currently 205Kb). Not too bad for such a large game!

The game will require about 150Kb RAM in order to play the game.

"Searching" for and "getting" all items is now working!

There is a combined total of more than 400 items spread throughout the various maps of Ultima V.

Good luck finding them all! ;)wink.gif

Edit - Of course it is not necessary to have every item... It just makes some things easier. :Ptongue.gif

o.oblink.gif that's a lot.... does that mean there are 768 enemies in other areas?

Dungeon room and town enemies are set to a specific number. On the other hand, world enemies and dungeon enemies are generated randomly (don't confuse dungeon enemies with dungeon room enemies -- they are different) .

The final scrub of the dungeon rooms is complete.

Here are the results:

- Total number of items = 264   (originally 280)
- Total number of enemies = 768   (originally 1032)

Yes... Dungeon rooms can be very deadly and very rewarding at the same time. ;)wink.gif

I *hope* that I can return, and be at least as active as ranman(shouldn't be hard. :Ptongue.gif .)

I hope you can too! :)smile.gif

My real life involves a wife, 2 kids (11 months and 3 years old), and my job. It will be a major accomplishment (for myself) when I finally finish Ulitma V -- hopefully soon.  ;)wink.gif

This game looks amazing!

It looks like a lot of thought has been put into this project. The graphics are very cool and laid out well.

Keep up the great work! :king:king2.gif
