And it has taken a substantial amount of time to shrink and redraw them by hand. I have tried many image manipulation tools; their shrinking algorithms end up blurry. And, when you are talking about 11x11 pixel tiles, any blurriness is unacceptable. The tiles alone require approximately 23Kb. I do not compress the tiles, they simply reside in Flash memory... ready to be used at a moments notice. Progress update = 85.4% 724
TI 68K / Ultima V: General Discussion« on: November 13, 2006, 05:57:00 am »THE POST 11059627 Kevin, I am not holding a grudge against anyone. When Omnimaga was deleted 7 months ago, I lost of lot of posts concerning Ultima V. Yes, I was pretty upset, but I got over it. Omnimaga no longer existed -- it was gone. So, I started over at TI Freakware. A short time later, Omnimaga re-emerged. How was I to know that this would happen? Was I suppose to cut-n-run from TI Freakware now that Omnimaga returned? I would definitely say no! TI Freakware is the official home of Ultima V now. You are going to have to accept that. Please don't make me feel guilty about moving to TI Freakware. I'm truly sorry about your life circumstances. I have gone through similar life circumstances as you know. I can only hope and pray that things get better for you. Please understand that I have forgiven you. I do not hold a grudge against you. I hope and pray you feel the same way about me. Your friend, David Randall Ranman 725

Hmmm... Well, TI Freakware has been the home for Ultima V since the Omnimaga forums were deleted earlier this year. Please do not make me feel guilty about this. When I have notable progress, I gladly post on both TIFW and Omni. I did not consider the number of tiles complete to be "big" news. Since the issue has been brought up, I only have 32 tiles remaining out of 512. O_O 726

The coolest computer ever made...
The Commodore SX-64 (1983-1984) Specs: 5" Color CRT (320x200, 16 colors) 64Kb RAM 1MHz MOS 6510 CPU (slightly modified Apple IIe CPU) 5.25 Floppy Disk Drive (each disk can hold 170Kb) Built in sound! Ports: Cartridge Port Serial Bus Port (daisy chain up to 4 devices - precursor to USB) S-Video Out Composite Video Out 2 Joystick Ports Notes: Look at the super cool handle that doubles as a stand. :gah: And I should not forget... it weighs a mere 30lbs. O_O Simply amazing! My other computer is nothing special: Sony GRX-650 1.8GHz P4M 512Mb DDR 2100 40GB 5400 RPM HDD ATI Radeon 7500 w/32Mb dedicated video memory 16.1" UXGA screen (1600x1200 - Absolutely beautiful) Very nice (and loud) internal speakers! I love 'em. Note: If it was not for the uber screen, this laptop would be listed on eBay. 728

TI 68K / Ultima V: General Discussion« on: October 21, 2006, 04:06:00 pm »THE POST 10278879 It is progressing. I have been working on alot of little details of late. I have also rewritten the entire NPC dialog scripts. The originals were too cumbersome to use and required alot of memory for runtime interpretation. The new ones are soooo much easier to use. On a side note... My wife has begun having contractions; which essentially means our baby boy is coming VERY soon. Hence, my time in the TI community will begin to diminish. However, I promise that Ultima V will be finished soon. :king: Wow... 2 kids! Can you believe that? o.o 730

Oh my goodness! O_O
It just keeps getting better all the time. :king: Sometimes you can make things appear faster by skipping a frame or two. Some people may consider this cheating a little bit; but when things are moving soooo fast, no one will ever notice. |
