TI 68K / StarCraft 68k: Reborn

I see...

Some sprites appear to be stationary, hence only one sprite angle is necessary. But, there are some that turn around, like vehicles, that will need multiple rotations to make for better -- but not absolutely necessary -- turning animations.

Yes, StarCraft is isometric, so we have sprites rotated at all possible angles.

 Isometric... Cool!

Why do you need to have all of the sprites rotated at all angles? I would think that you would only need to have a single isometric view of each tile -- unless, of course, the map is viewed from different angles too.

Yeah... me too. I would love to help, but I definitely need to finish Ultima V before I commit myself to anything else. Still hoping for later this year. ;)wink.gif

Have you thought about the tilemap and what size the tile sprites will be; 16x16 or maybe 12x12? Games like this need a large viewable tilemap. :)smile.gif

The TI BASIC editor may impose other limitations too -- I don't know.

If you go with the text editor, then you may not have any limitations.

Hmmm....

This sounds very interesting and very challenging. I have never played Starcraft, but I have heard that is an awesome game.

It is wise to do some house cleaning every once in a while, but Alex's project subforum was only inactive for 5 weeks.

If this is the going to be policy at Omnimaga, then it might be a good idea to post it in the forum rules. I would suggest stating a reasonable time of inactivity (3 months) along with a friendly reminder/warning. This would definitely help reduce any confusion in the future.

Sorry about your subforum Alex -- maybe xlibman will resurrect it.

Keep up the great work!

anyway how is ultima V 68k going? ;)wink.gif

Ultima VII for the SNES is already designed for a game console. So, EA would not have to do much in terms of getting input from the user.

Ultima V for 68K is moving along... Full terrain tile interaction is almost complete. So, when you are walking through the forest or climbing a mountain, your will progress will be slowed down. When you walk through the swamp, players will be randomly poisoned. When you walk through lava or fires, the entire party is burned and will lose hit points.

Oh crap!

The current rumor is that the PSP version of Ultima VII is going to be a port of the SNES version. :vomit:vomit.gif

Nothing against the SNES, but the Nintendo port of the Ultima VII was not the best. <_<dry.gif

I am glad the shooter is dead! Good riddens!

As long as he is dead, he will not be able to hurt anybody again. And, he will never get off on some technicallity or insanity plea.

wow windows 3.1 :wacko:triso2.gif I wish I could find it, hopefully it runs on XP.

They should re-release the compilation for XP.

Ultima 0 through Ultima VI run on XP, but they need something called MoSlo to slow the PC down to the 7MHz range.

I have heard that alot a people have trouble running Ultima VII and VIII on XP because of the non-standard memory management that Origin was forced to use back in the early 90s.

why not Nintendo DS and PC? O_Oshocked2.gif:cryveryloud:pleure.gif

I'm not sure about the Nintendo DS, but EA released an Ultima compilation for the PC a few years back.

Ultima Collection

This contains Ultima 0 (aka Alkabeth) up to Ultima VIII.
