That'd be so darn awesome! :thumbup:google.gif Oooo, maybe a port to the 83+'s after that?  %)rolleyes2.gif

Considering that both Ultima V world maps are 64Kb a piece, I don't think it will fit on an 83+. :(sad.gif And let's not forget that there is another 64Kb worth of town maps and nearly 64Kb of dungeon and other miscellaneous maps. O_Oshocked2.gif Oh... and another 128Kb worth of strings and NPC talking scripts. :gah:fou.gif These are, of course, all uncompressed numbers. ;)wink.gif

However, as I have said before, I bet you we could squeeze Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar into the 83+. ;)wink.gif

Was c64 8 bits or 16 bits? And how much bits is ps3, xbox 360 and wii? They wont tell it anymore

Thanks for starting this topic Kevin. %)rolleyes2.gif

The C64 is an 8 bit CPU (MOS 6510 @ 1MHz).

The PS3 uses the Cell processor. I believe that it is based upon the PowerPC architecture. It is an 8 core CPU o.oblink.gif One core is supposedly a full implementation of a CPU -- kind of like a master core. And the remaining 7 cores are supposedly partial CPU cores -- designed to be used for more specific slave tasks.

The X360 uses 3 complete PowerPC cores -- not sure if this means a single 3 core CPU or 3 independent CPUs.

I believe the Wii uses the PowerPC processor too.

Hence, if they are all using PowerPC architecture, then they are probably all 64 bit capable CPUs. :)smile.gif

lol

do you think release will be ready for fall? %)rolleyes2.gif

I am still planning an initial release for this fall.

Some things I still need to finish before initial release and testing:

- full combat capability (currently at 50%)
- casting spells
- full terrain (tile) interaction
- some special dungeon puzzles
- frigates firing their cannons
- meeting with Lord Blackthorn
- meeting with Lord British
- general code refinements

Some things planned for release number 2:

- full 15 track musical soundtrack
- the astronomy portion of Ultima V
- character generator
- beginning story
- end story
- general code refinements

After fighting the guards a few times, you will come to your senses. ;)wink.gif

The guards are tough to beat especially at the beginning of the game. :Ptongue.gif

o.oblink.gif lol and it rocks if you can program it as well ^^

Yep... BASIC is built in or you can learn MOS 6510 assembly language.

Not too shabby for a 23 year old computer with 64Kb RAM, 1MHz processor, 16 colors, and built in 3 voice sound. :w00t:woot.gif

I love my Commodore 64. And yes... I still have it! :Ptongue.gif

Edit: Did I forget to mention 2 joystick ports, 1 cartridge port, 1 serial port (daisy chain up to 4 devices), RF video out, Composite video out, and even S-video out. O_Oshocked2.gif

Another update:

The "Under Arrest" cut-scene is now working. Yeah, under certain circumstances, the guards will chase you down and place you under arrest. You will have 2 choices: fight to the death or go quietly to your prison cell. It is rumored that your prison mates may help you find a way to escape.  ;)wink.gif

w00t nice, its amazing to see how small it is even though its 83.3% complete alerady!

That is just the game engine alone. It will be the most limiting factor -- the game engine cannot be larger than 64 Kb and I am getting close to that limit.  <_<dry.gif

The total game requires 230 Kb right now. O_Oshocked2.gif But I have a few more compression techniques to get it down to about 210 Kb. ;)wink.gif

nice to see new progress, Indeed this feature sound very nice, if you get stuck in a dungeon and have saved your game i guess its better to try to get killed by the enemies and come back at start point, right?

 Yeah... something like that.  :)smile.gif

The starting point of the game is actually Iolo's Hut, which is hidden in a remote location within the Deep Forest. The forest is so dense, you may not see your enemies before they attack you -- so be very careful.

 THE POST 9141181
Well... I finally finished the "Dead Party" cut scene. It was rather painful! It took me all week to get past a couple of very minor issues -- but if I knew how minor they were at the beginning, it would have only taken a few hours. <_<dry.gif

So... When everyone in the party dies, everything goes black. You hear some words from the guardians of the Codex of Ultimate Wisdom. Then, a peal of thunder shakes the place of death followed by an apparition of Lord British. He resurrects and heals the entire party... at a small cost of 50 experience points per person. Finally, the entire party is teleported back to the throne room of Lord British.

This is a nice feature of the game. It can be very advantageous in certain situations of the game. ;)wink.gif

Maybe I will put some screenshots up later. Now on to the "Hole Up & Camp" cut scene.

Maybe it will be the first Omni-TIFW POTY program :Dbiggrin.gif

That would be great! But, there are some other very deserving games out there.
