Axe / Questions with commands
« on: March 03, 2010, 09:23:09 pm »
I started using Axe today (like five minutes ago).
So, as expected, I r newfeg.

I am having issues with the word NAME in the documentation.
How do you declare a name? And what is meant by VAR?
Because I threw in the variable A to see what it did.
Axe threw back an error. :(

Little help, please?

The new pointer function, in particular.

You can only see the word FastCopy so many times before you feel like a retard.

If anyone could put some of the commands in layman's terms...?

Other Calculators / TI-BASIC programming wins me a scholarship?
« on: February 28, 2010, 09:57:32 am »
Okay then.
Well, I am competing in a competition called ACT-SO.
It is a non-profit organization dedicated to give youths (like me) scholarships to go to college.
But, we need to win the competitions.
There's a local and a national comp.
The local is March 20.
My information (Lemonade Tycoon builds and such) are due Friday.

HELP ME STAY ON TASK, PLEASE!
This is for my future and I need to stay focused.

If time allows, the greatest feature you could add to Axe:

RICKROLLS MID-PROGRAM!

... Kidding.
I would personally like to see greyscale support and the speed of said function.
Perhaps an entire Pic (96x64) to Hex program...?
It would make those title screens easier on the calc.

MY GOD.
Axe-compiled programs FLY on 84+ SE's!

EDIT: What the hell? I can't spell today.

So, how does this work?
Does the Parser just sit in Archive as an ASM program?
Or is it an APP?

Intriguing.
How different are we talking?
Is it still readable?

Buzzkill, Builder. Buzzkill. D:
I am slightly saddened by this fact.

But, any speed boost in BASIC is an upgrade.
That much is true.

Hot damn.
And, it's still BASIC? :D

Also, how fast are we talking about for this Axe Parser?
Nearly fast enough isn't specific enough for me.
Is there a considerable difference in speed in relation to ASM?
And when should I start programming in this language?
I don't want to start a program just to scrap it because of a new version that came out.

It would be interesting to see:

*[ON] Break toggle on/off
*Tilemapping
*Text Modes
*Draw Shape (a MUST)
*Celtic III filesystem (the ability to make an AppVar and such.)
*Background Hex Sprite scrolling

:D

Question.
Can xLib commands be parsed as well?
