But Ndless is so much more exciting than Assembly on the older models. The Nspire has so much more potential than they did.

So long as their hands are clean, TI seems to have a semi-nonchalant attitude concerning development for most of their line. I think it's because they know they stand to benefit from it.

I thought that Omnom was an acceptable shorthand form of Omnimaga.
Sorry if I commited any sort of heresy. I don't know of any students who bring their calculators out at inoppurtune times at all, especially not just to play a game. I don't think that that's happening very often. I think that kids just take them out at times when there's nothing else to do during the day--otherwise, teachers just tell them to put it away. It's easy to discern between using a calculator for calculations and playing a game. Still, it's not surprising that teachers are bitching about "extracurricular" calculatorial capabilities--teachers are a stuffy lot. 4

It is absolutely appalling that TI is doing everything in its power to keep real third-party development from taking place for the Nspire line, especially considering that all the communities like the one at Omnom have ever done as far as the company's bottom line is concerned is move more of their calculators.

That is a shame. That's still a TON of calculators, however.

The dev scene as far as the Nspire is concerned is very active, but, compared to the incredible amount of Apps available for the 83+/84+ series, hasn't developed anywhere near as much, especially when you consider that the Nspire's stats are so much more impressive than those of a ten-year-old calculator. I guess that will change, given enough time.
Speaking of apps for the 83/84, how is TI-Boy coming along? I ask, because a) I don't want to start a new thread about it and b) I am currently under the impression that it is dead. 8

Anyone have any recommendations, a la cool apps I now have the wherewithal to use? (Aside from the Game Boy Color emulator.) 9

Yes, I managed to procure a copy. Thanks to everyone who emailed me (you know who you are).
I was wondering about the power management bug present in this iteration of the OS as I heard Calc84 made a patch. Anyone know where I could find it/how to install it? That said, welcome here Snispire and sorry for the very long registration process. This normally never happens, but the proxy you are using is blacklisted on SFS website due to spambots, so when you signed up, it automatically locked down your forum account.I'm not using a proxy. I'm using Netscape (AOL). Aside from that, don't worry about it, DJ. It was no big deal. 10

Thanks...I've already tried googling the full version number...any other (totally benign, of course) advice you can give?

Everyone who wants to install Ndless is seemingly able to find the OS, v1.1, and this leads me to believe that there are places where it is available of which I am not aware. Maybe someone could point me in the right direction (NOT over this forum, of course) and there is nothing particularly felonious about sharing the name of a website. I just want to install Ndless, and nearly all the members here who own an Nspire installed it somehow.

Thanks! I understand that file-sharing isn't wanted.
That's why I requested that the exchange of pleasantries occur via email. That way, the fact that the participants were Omnomers would be completely ancillary. 13

I am the proud new owner of a TI-Nspire (Clickpad, non-CAS). It's the first graphing calculator I've owned, although I've cut my teeth on the TI-83/84 line of calcs and am pretty accustomed to using them.
I have read the announcement frowning upon discussion of the distribution of Nspire firmware, say, v.1.1, and I don't want to break any rules. But, if anyone, whom, keeping Omnimaga and similar sites completely out of the picture, wanted to email me a file or two, I would be very grateful as I am out of places to look. If you know of a place, I would be very grateful for that email as well. Thanks in advance and I am sorry if this violates any rules (which I hope it doesn't).
