I would like to be a character(maybe with a speaking part (or maybe evil))..... I don't really care what part I get(maybe the main characters girlfriend(even though I am a boy )), but I would enjoy if I had at least one speaking part.

Hey, is there an official IRC channel for Omni-RPG?
Yeah, it's "#Omni-RPG".

I think that we should have a poll or something for the size and/or graylevels. Some people may want to get started on making them.

If we do make a video, do we introduce ourselves like, "Hello, I'm [insert username here] from OmnimagaTV...", or "Hello, I'm [insert username here] from Omnimaga..."?

I implemented the better sorting technique and gained over 1fps for the dark link model, which is pretty good imo . (also fixed some bfc issues too).
You gonna upload the new version, or are you gonna wait until you make a bigger update?

What does "LOAD" do in the menu? I tried clicking on it, and all it does is send the cursor to play.
That's for if you make your own level. It would have been cool if you could have implemented turrets, but I guess this takes place before the time of the turrets. My friend was asking me about why they weren't in it. Edit: Ninja'd

I was originally thinking 32x32 or 24x24 for characters I think we should use 16x16 tiles, even though that means we won't have much to show on the screen at any given point. I made some rather nice tiles for an old game that were 16x16 that I might be able to share. I might also have to get around to writing a scrolling map engine >.>
I like the detail in 16x16 sprites, especially grayscale. It also makes the world seem so much bigger and you feel closer to the game
Sounds good to me. I agree to this.

Ok builderboy, i don't know if it's on purpose but i have it every time... In the level where the elevator breaks... You get a dialog... You can do next sentence with [2nd] but on a given moment if i press it, it doesn't do next but turns on the [2nd] lock And i can also turn on [alpha] lock... And then i can skip it with [enter] and the next one is skipable with [2nd] and then the one after that it's the same story... I can only do it 2times in that dialog (sorry no screenie)
That happens with me too.

What size sprites are we talking about here? When I first thought about it, I thought 16x16 for the characters, but now it seems king of big in my mind(unless you can convince me I'm wrong ). Now I'm thinking 8x8 should be fine. These are just my opinions though. Edit: Also, I would like to be in it. That wold be cool. I help come up with more ideas about the storyline/idea if I need to contibute to be in it.

Should we make the npc's look like the person they're based off of?

Maybe somebody already noticed it, but today I found out that you can hold the Alpha button and you fly(I was just messing around with buttons).

I like ARPG because I don't have to share my calc. No one touches my calc but me(and maybe my parents).

Ok, so I have a (rather barebones) storyline concept.
In essence, since this is a primarily Omnimaga-based community project, why not make the story based around Omni itself?
You start as a general, run-of-the-mill calc enthusiast. You have just bought the latest calc, but little do you know this calc is different from others. You see, you have unknowingly bought the first calculator, known in myth as the "DJ_Omnimaga's Holy Calculator." Upon turning it on, you have been transported inside the calculator to a place known as "Omnimaga" which resides inside the "TI" continent. Omnimaga is a peace-loving realm, however, not everything is as it seems. There is trouble stirring. While Omnimaga is at peace with its neighbors like the country of Cemetech, there are ancient tensions building between the different philosophies. Some people follow "the Way of the Assembly" others, "the Way of the Axe" and hostilities are building up. There is also discontent with recent events. And people are leaving to settle the continent of Casio. And behind everything, an ancient evil has its sights of dominating the calculator world, and through you, the Outer world as well.
As the player, you will have to settle these smaller disputes and unify the community against this evil. I your quest, you will meet individuals such as DJ_Omnimaga, who founded the country or Quigibo, who began the Way of the Axe. (Aka, we will have cameos in this story)
That's the basic idea I have right now.
I like this. * pimathbrainiac likes edit: Make the country of Netham an island nation who's major export is lobster!
Or we could make the place lobster shaped. Wow, these are actually some cool ideas. I think serious-minded overarching scene might be better. We should also include TICalc as maybe a powerful organisation that keeps a record of most calculator knowledge (think of Druids) and we can use some info from TI-Story to create a neat history. I am thinking that a lot of this project is going to be in archive, so will definitely need some asm utilities or code (again, I'm happy with writing that). I can also create some compression/decompression programs to make text not take up so much memory (and probably images).
TICalc should be a giant library like in Doctor Who.

Cool, the man looks good. Do you know how many polygons those are?
Also can i get a copy of the 1st model, there seems to be something funny going on with it?
I don't know how many faces/vertices there are, but I attached the files.
