I kinda sorta maybe fell in love with C and developing on the CE so I'm thinking about just dropping the b/w version and working on a color edition. It's just much easier trying to code something that way. If anyone else wants to pick up the rebuild from where I left off, I'll be happy to provide support, but until I find my love for z80 and overly-overengineered script systems again, I'm not sure I'll pick this up again.
It would be nice programming on a device where I don't have to worry so much about memory or paging. Or making up languages to keep size down.
And I may or may not be strongly suggesting/backing this. The development cycle is much nicer and one EZ80-LLVM is done and we can use c++ the whole thing will fall into place much much faster with much less headaches. Easier to add in cut scenes and such. Really just more likely to be finished >.>
Hi Guys, This is none of my business, nevertheless nice guys always deserve a polite comment. I did some assembly (ASM) coding for quite a number of years, but that was a longtime ago. Nowadays, i eventually use it only for very tiny bits of the program, because it remains the only savvy way to optimize speed. IMO, C language is, by today's standards, the lowest you can get in terms of a high level language abstraction. However, it's a fact that is far more productive than ASM. Humans beings, thanks God, use a higher level of abstraction than the stupid and poor RISC machines (simple robots). Also, compilers can do a beautiful job at optimizing the generated code, unlike some years ago. And last but not least, now you have plenty of memory. Envision that as a very large field to plant trees. You'll never be able fill it up. So yeah, i agree with you both, wise decision! Time now to reverse compile from ASM to C .

... I basically carried out a Padé expansion for e^x to infinity, noticed that after the constant term all the even coefficients were zero, so I used a Padé expansion on that function to quickly find our approximation for a. ...
That infinity was pretty near, I'd say For someone who's on the phone and typing with her toes this just looks interesting.

Hi all, I was trying to run the 153 on oneplus 3t, its on 7.1.1 right now. nspiroid runs and launches the nspire OS but while the loading bar is in middle the app crashes. Any ideas? I tried the same everything on Nexus 5 (android 5.1.1) which works all fine.
Hi cas4500, Welcome to Omnimaga! Thanks for your interest. As far as 7.1.1 goes, I have no clue ATM. It doesn't surprise me at all, given that Google people like to change things with every new version, it creates yet a larger market, you see (following on the Apple footsteps, IIRC). Short, I hope to have some free time soon to look into the matter. Nspiroid v1.53 is working on my marshmallow (6.0.1) devices, though.

Great as usual! I would go a step further down into assembly, though .

Release v1.53: Android Marshmallow (6.0.1) update Hi there, Yesterday I bought, for the first time, an Android marshmallow device (a 10.1" Lenovo Tab 3 Plus tablet, BTW). Alas, when trying to install Nspiroid v1.52 on it it, all I got was "Unfortunately Nspiroid v1.52 has stopped" sorta error, apparently due to an even more 'misterious' "Installation error: INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE", WT*? So, without further ado, here's an update for those interested in testing Nspiroid on a marshmallow device. I haven't made any code changes to Nspiroid yet, except for the "targetSDK" in the manifest file (yeah, with Google you'll never know what they are up to , permissions stuff in this case, AACH). Hope it helps some of you,

I know this is a bit of a necro, but it's just a shame that such a lot of good work seems to have gone down the drain. Any news?

Thanks for newsing! I find it quite useful.

I thought that made people feel older. Kids are supposed to make your hair turn gray and then fall out!
Well, IMO you're wrong, you know. Except for the hair thing, in that i tend to agree with you. But, but what's wrong with the gray hair, BTW. No like it?

Hi Art, welcome back! How was your Omnimaga's break? Any new new project(s) in your rucksack?

Could we port the early 68K Macintosh System to TI's 68k calcs? We would need to use a very early version due to RAM constraints, but it would be possible. We could (barely) fit it in the archive on early TI-92 Pluses and 89s, and maybe even burn a ROM for non-plus 92s.
Hi @Logan P welcome to Omnimaga, IIRC i've seen something like that, some years ago, here: https://www.omnimaga.org/news/mini-vmac-for-the-ti-nspire/Not quite a 68k CPU but is a black-and-white MacOS port of sorts. Have fun

Thanks buddy! I never left; though it can be hard to find the time to work on something. I plan on picking up something new; but likewise work and other things do tend to occupy our time. But I am rooting for you!
Yeah, geniuses are normally shy sort of people. I've seen a few hanging around on IRC but none seems to bother to post a simple a 'Hello', though. OTOH, from the the (u) states we've been hearing a lot of inconsequent sound bytes, lately. Life, I gather. Keep enjoying the sunlight while it lasts, I'd say. Me too, I'm rooting for you (I like the idiomatic expression).

Hello there! Welcome back to the joyland. Activity-wise this has been somewhat quiet lately. Puzzles are normally entertaining stuff both for easily-bored people but especially so for programmers. I wish I had the time to make something new, but unfortunately now professional-stuff has a higher priority. Looking forward for coming holidays, though. Thanks!
