I won a TI nspire CX CAS and I wonder it won't come with os 3.6 :S
"Trés bien Antoine!" If you don't mind my asking, where and how did you win the 'CX CAS'?

Well, i'm here pulling what remains of my hair trying to figure out an answer for some of your remarks. So, here are a few: With 33+ years of programming/hardware design experience and 26+ years as a EE I am always astounded why you are all at all surprised. Don't you get it?
Beware, some guys around here are older than that. It's all about money and power! It has nothing to do with capability!
Some of the oldest members have been stating just that for years now. ...we can make this platform the most successful to have ever traversed the face of this planet.
What an exaggeration, my gosh! The poor thing is already quite old-fashioned by todays' tech standards, the only valuable stuff remaining is the math-software, really. I'll stop here. Welcome, we'll surely be able to appreciate your experience and knowledge. Cheers,

..Also I'm glad your school has no restriction on which calcs you can get yet (such as forcing everyone to get an Nspire running OS 3.2.4).
Have your heard of something like that ever happenning in Canada or elsewhere? Oh dear!
Only in United States and Netherlands so far, and not every school does it.
Hmm, that makes me wonder on how strong TI's school lobbying must be (in said countries) to enforce their own criteria upon teachers and student's parents? IMHO is somewhat of an anti-social behaviour (from strong corporations) which demands some strong reaction.

Thank you both AdriWeb and Streetwalker. @Streetwalker: we would like to be based, if possible, around the 'Cité Unversitaire' area: Montrouge, Arcueil, VilleJuif, etc Merci,

I need to find good accomodation for students (to be honest, one of them is my own daughter) to stay around 6 months in Paris. I've been looking (or googling rather) around and haven't been able to find anything very affordable vs quality? Because we have so many good people from Paris around here, i just thought it would be a good idea to drop'em a line. If you feel you can help, please give me some directions where to start. Thanks.

Any idea on how to press multiple keys in the nspire_emu or kArmTI? I would like to test the maintenance menus.
Hi Boot1 (what a kicking nick!!), First off, thanks for your kind words (these days they are pretty rare and you don't need travel very far, mind you). I wish you well! As to the multiple keys, it's a feature that shouldn't be that hard to implement but i don't think it should be given a very high priority. Maybe later, if i can find some spare time i'll look at it. Debug Builds: Well, i simply didn't bother to test them (i don't have them in the first place!). IMO for testing these builds, you'll be much better off if you use the nspire_emu source-code, figure out where you need to make changes and off you go... Regards,

Lol nice one. This would be funny if this actually worked, though.
Thanks! Judging from some of the previous replies (except for Streetwalker's) i guess i wasn't very successful, so here's a little explanation. I was just trying to make a joke, to stir up the atmosphere a little bit! At the same i've tried to pass on some basic (subliminal) thoughts, such as: Why isn't Prime available worldwide with roughly the same price tag (hence the roaming tax)? Why does HP collect free usage feedback from forums and doesn't give anything in return (i don't think it's a fair deal)? Of course, IMO it is theoretically possible for HP to pick a *sample* of users and (yeah, almost randomly) distribute some Prime samples (specially considering this is a first release). That's *not* something unusual at all. That was about it, i gather. Next time, i'll try not to joke. I like jokes, it helps me feeding my brain. I don't think i've offended anyone, though.

I would like to make an extensive review of the HP Prime capabilities and bugs. Can anyone send me an HP Prime sample, please? ------------- My address is: [email protected](near) Howard Hughes Medical Institute, 1550 4th St, San Francisco, CA IP: 108.162.198.193 ----------- Thank you, The idea is: place here your real address details (if you dare), and wait... Let's check if we're handling with real sensible calc sellers. We never know, this might be a good deal for HP?

It's not much, but I drew this last night. I kinda like it; makes me feel like I'll learn it someday ^^ ...
I like it, but i'd say: put up some oil and colour, make it a (real) girl and let's see it again!

My thoughts were/are the following: taking for granted that the OP (Nosferatu) has really tested Maxima and was happy with the experience (and i have no reasons to doubt it, whatsoever!), it would be always be handy to have available a second result to cross-check with the ones from the newly just-introduced Prime. Of course, i'm only considering the CAS part. As for the school allowing phones, i guess it will take a little while until school authorities figure out a way to permit phones. As a teacher, i can tell you, that it only requires a little bit more thinking at the time the examinations are elaborated. Future times will include online counselling, anyway. You just can't live without it, anymore. Let's hope the OP will soon login again. Welcome to the future.
