This is the second part of a series on how to use the Omnimaga forums.If you're new here, hi and welcome to Omnimaga! Be sure to post in the Introduce Yourself! board. How to: Make a new postNow that your profile looks nice, it's time to be a part of the community and post on the forums. The first thing you need to do is go to the forums! Click on "Forum" on the Omnimaga header.  This page is a list of all of the forums and sub-forums (forum inside of a forum) on Omnimaga. There are ones for calculators, for computers, random discussion, and more! Let's take a look at them.
 Omnimaga: This forum is for discussing the site itself.
 Calculator Community: The biggest forum. It is divided up into different brands here. If you are working on or have finished a project for a calculator, post it here!
 General Discussion: The most diverse forum. It is divided up into different interests. The first section is all about computers and technology. If you wrote a program for a computer, built an electronic device, or just want to discuss technology, post here. Music Talk and Showcase and Art sections are for posts about making music and art of any kind. Introduce Yourself is a place where new members can tell the community about themselves. Other Discussions is for off-topic/general talk.
Click on a board to look at the topics (also known as threads) inside of it. A list of topics looks like this:  Click on a topic to read the posts in it. If you want to post in a topic, you can use the Quick Reply box at the bottom of the page. Type your reply, then click Post to post it. 
To make your own topic, go back to the list of topics in the forum you are looking at. At the bottom or top of the page, you should see a row of buttons that look like this:  Click "New Topic" and you will be taken to the post editor:  This post editor's formatting buttons (bold, underline, etc.) work kind of like Microsoft Word's do. You can also click on the emoticons to insert them into your post. (Just don't overuse them!  ) When you are finished, click Post at the bottom of the post editor. That's it!

How to: Edit your profileThe first thing you'll see when you log in is the Omnimaga header: To see your profile on Omnimaga, hover over "Profile" on the header and click on "Summary". This will show you your public profile.  The "Summary" page looks like this for me:  We're not here to just look at your profile, though. We're here to edit it. Hover over "Profile" again, and click on "Forum Profile". This page will let you edit your public profile seen on the forums. Here's what the "Forum Profile" page looks like for me:  I can't show the whole page in one picture, so I'll just explain what all of the fields are for in multiple screenshots. The screenshots are put into quotes for readability.
Personalized Picture: Also known as your avatar. This picture shows up beside all of your posts. Select "No avatar" to not have an avatar, "Specify avatar by URL" to use a picture on the internet as your avatar, and "Upload an avatar" to use a picture on your computer as your avatar.
Personal Text: This is text that you can customize that also shows up beside all of your posts and in your profile. It is optional.
Birthdate, Location, Gender: These fields are optional. You can provide your birthdate (other people will be able to see your age on your profile), your location (doesn't have to be detailed, visible on your profile), and your gender (also visible on your profile).
ICQ, AIM, MSN, YIM Usernames: These fields are optional. You can show your username for various IM services on your profile.
Custom Title: This is optional. This is text that you can customize that shows up below your username on all of your posts. You need to have 1000 posts to be able to use this feature.
Signature: This is optional. A signature is like a little post that shows up below all of the posts that you make. It can have text and any kind of BBcode you want in it, as long as it is not more than 200 pixels tall.
Website: If you own a website, you can put its URL here. This shows up on your profile and is optional.
Calculators: List any calculators (graphing or otherwise) that you own here! This is optional.
Social Networks: If you want to put links to your social network accounts on your profile, enter them here. This is optional.
That's it! Be sure to click the "Change profile" button on the bottom of the page to save your changes.

This is probably the most useless device I have made. It displays random tetriminoes on a 4x2 LED matrix. It has two modes: one where it automatically displays a new tetrimino every few seconds, and one where it requires a button press to display a new tetrimino. It has a PIC18F26K20 for its processor. EDIT: Some updates and pictures and other fun stuffI added a blinking effect whenever the tetrimino is changed, and I also added an LED for showing if the timer is activated or not. Since the topic of using Scratch and GameMaker came up on The Red Fly thread, I decided to make a dedicated thread about it. So, what do you think of these tools? Are they a good thing to learn as an intro to programming/gamedev? Do they have any merit outside of just learning/education? How do you use them?

This is a project I've been planning for a long time, and finally started a couple of days ago. The Red Fly is a 2D space exploration game with some sandbox elements. Planets and the universe are randomly generated. There will be 3 main modes for playing the game: -On planets -In the player's ship -The map Planets will be able to be explored and mined for materials. Planets will possibly contain rogue aliens to fight and structures to loot. The player's ship is the most modifiable of the 3 modes. Structures can be built, placed, and moved, and resources, tools, and weapons can be crafted. The map is where the ship can be moved and flown to planets, and other ships can be fought. None of this is actually implemented yet though Here's a screenshot of the first planet interface, which is very far from complete:  More updates hopefully coming soon!

EDIT: HUGE project update HERE!The project is now called FrostAPC328. APC stands for Arduino Programmable Clock, and the 328 comes from the Arduino's processor, the ATmega328.For a while now I have been wanting to make a small computer that would be easily programmable. I was going to originally going to do this with a PIC18F, but I am now doing this with an Arduino Uno. It has a 2 line 16 character LCD, a pot, and will eventually have input, select, cancel, and menu buttons. The programming language will be an interpreted language called Pickaxe that will have less than 20 instructions. Progress so far: -LCD works with Arduino -Pot can be used to select character to input As you can see, I have a very long way to go until this thing will actually be programmable. I'll keep this thread updated with any new progress.

(I'm not sure if this should go in Gaming Discussion or not, since this is more of a tech support thread)
A friend gave me a Pokemon Red cartridge and the game worked just fine for a couple days. Games saved and loaded just fine, and no glitches or crashes, so the battery isn't dead. Now, whenever I try to boot the game, the Nintendo logo on the Game Boy startup screen looks corrupted. I'm trying to play this on a GBA SP. The cartridge makes a faint rattling noise, and it sounds as if the entire PCB is moving. I've cleaned the contacts multiple times and still nothing. Also, the very very rare times I get the game to boot, any faint touch on the cartridge crashes the game. Can anyone help with this? (I also don't want to do anything that will destroy my save)

I'm just wondering who else plays Terraria and is interested in playing multiplayer, and possibly setting up an Omnimaga server for Terraria.
