It looks suspiciously like the "Car Racing" game included in most Pop Stations. Good start though, maybe you should actually add a racing aspect to the game.

I wasn't planning for that, but it could always happen!

I got a limited amount of program space. I am using 12 out of 30k of max program size at the moment. This includes the clock, interpreter, menu, LCD routines and some other stuff.
A basic will require a lot of strings which increases the program size.
What processor are you using? My PIC18F46K20 has 64 KB of program memory, and I wrote some complex programs that never even took up half of it. Maybe you should try a PIC18F?

The brain**** interpreter is cool, but not actually useful ;) Maybe make some kind of limited BASIC that is tokenized, so you can just select it from a list?

Other / New (non-graphing) calculator project
« on: December 18, 2012, 03:06:02 pm »
As you may know, I had the idea to make my own graphing calculator (DCG-10 or Dreamcalc). That didn't work out so well, mainly because I didn't have any idea how to start. Since then, I've been tutored quite a bit in electronics, and I now have enough knowledge to attempt making my own calculator.
This calculator won't be a graphing calculator, but a normal calculator, but with a very interesting function: a square-wave generator. It will have a port on it, that you can plug a wire into, and generate a square-wave. It will also be able to convert between bases, and edit internal memory addresses. The whole thing will be powered by a PIC18F46K20 and feature a 3 line by 16 character LCD screen. I don't actually have any hardware set up yet, but I have flowcharts, circuit diagrams, and concept front panel design. Note that this isn't just a one-man project, I have my electronics tutor helping me with this too :) I'm calling this the Silvercrop Brave 10. I'll be using Anova for the website soon :D

Planned features:
* 4 Function calculator, with parenthesis, exponents, and square roots
* Ability to convert between 4 different bases: binary, hex, decimal, and octal
* Adjustable square wave/clock signal generator
* Ability to edit the RAM of the PIC
* (Tentative) Expansion slot for more features

This will happen, because I have a second person to bug me about this ;)

What schools do you people go to? Almost no one in my grade (8th) knows what a graphing calculator is.

In my algebra I class, there are 10 TI30XIIS calculators for students to borrow. I use my FX9750GII instead :D

Next year I might try to submit MCL (computer programs are allowed, right?) or a secret project I've been working on :P.

I see you're using a Minecraft texture pack....I just don't remember what it's called.....but I've been waiting for someone to port this and yay! I might be able to help with your level generator.

I think there should be some kind of stat point system for your character. Let's say you start off with 5 stat points...when you increase a stat, it uses 1 stat point. When you lower a stat, it gives you 1 stat point. As you adventure and fight, you should be able to gain stat points. There should be a building where you can then change your stats, maybe a church.

Just wondering: am I going to automagically be an admin because I created the channel (and can access it no matter what, even if password changes)?

I think we can integrate everything (music, let's plays of other games (OmniMine)) into one channel and use shows or playlists to organize them.

Well, you're fairly new, so people might not know you as much and might be unwilling to let a new member administrate.

Anyways, since I'm In a tie with spyro, I will devise a promotional speech :P

I've got pretty fast Internet and plenty of time to upload videos.
I'm also pretty good at video editing, and I will do so for any unedited videos uploaded to the server or if anyone requests their video to be edited.
I already have YouTube experience, and in order to promote the channel, I can upload some of the videos from the server onto my channel, which has 800 subs so will hopefully give the channel a nice boost.

I'm be wiling to dedicate a good portion of time towards this channel, and as admin I'll be able to do so. So if you'd like to help me out, go vote! :D

I have a 3 MB/s upload speed. Does that top yours?

I'm somewhat decent at video editing, but probably not as good as you :P

Um...um...I only have 2 subscribers....

But I did make the channel in the first place...
