In comparison, Windows and Mac OS are also operating systems. It's just that most Linux distributions are free of charge and open-source. Some are less graphical and arguably less user-friendly, while others have a standard UI. Some are pretty lightweight and more stable than Windows too, plus I don't recall any old version of Windows that can run on an ARM processor.
MAC OSX got free too (but its the hardware to worry about )
Installing it on a normal PC is getting easier each day though. Most recent machines are able to run OSX with almost no compatibility issues. (I originally planned to dual boot OSX and Windows when I started thinking about a gaming PC but then I found out about Arch Linux which is so much better than Ubuntu and went with it as my main OS <3)

I do not have a pc, I use my android for everything, but I don't take care of it very well (I rooted it manually without any prior knowledge of what rooting on android is)
Can anyone confirm, the only Omni user without a PC? How are you even alive right now?
I wonder too... I didn't last a week on campus before I decided to bring mine there.

Most people like to use C because assembly is just a lot harder.
*cough* ASM isn't really harder, it's just a different way to think. C (and everything else) on the Nspire involves loads of low level hardware access anyway so it doesn't really abstract much.

Did you make the sprites yourself or do they ship with RPG Maker? They look pretty darn awesome.
That. Your game looks pretty cool so far, I'd love to see what comes out of it.

Given the speed I bet you're redrawing the whole screen every frame. It'd be much smarter to do partial screen updates using horizontal and vertical to shift the buffer around, pt-change to erase the character and only redraw the tiles on the border of the screen.

I LOVE anime, Angel Beats will always be my favorite anime (unless someone can prove me wrong (but I'd like to see you try))
Sounds like you haven't seen Madoka Magica. Also welcome to the forums !

I like the idea. Of course it's always the same problem of completing it before all motivation vanishes into oblivion.
I know right, it happens to me all the time.

An UART is nothing else than a serial adapter. The thing you can use for reprogramming the boot2 but it also lets you communicate with the running program if it implements debug code. Oh Vog ninja'd me. And I didn't know about that. Does it work on OS 3.1 ? I don't want to upgrade because of all the reasons.

You can only install a CAS OS on a non CAS calc up to version 3.3. Also, not all calc revisions can be hacked this way. If you need a CAS, buy a CAS model, it's not that much more expensive.

I don't run any lua on my calc and I don't use it for school so I prefer to use OS 3.1 since I can debug on-calc pretty fast. I just need to get myself an UART.

It's nice that it came out for new users, even though I won't need it since I have an Nlaunchable calc and I'm still running is 3.1 anyway.

I didn't have time to check it out yet but I'm glad you made it as far as a release candidate. Looking forward to the release. Also I still didn't finish Reuben 1
