Yeah the screen will most likely need to be implemented via HLE for speed. The Nspire is able to emulate the ASIC accurately enough at full speed though.

Keep in mind this is for downgrading only. Once you are done, set up Nlaunchy + dual boot like so : http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=13213&lang=en
And install Ndless 3.6 (compatible with both 3.1 and 3.6) without doing step 5 (just reset) : http://tiplanet.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=14087&lang=en

You can't Nlaunch a CAS 3.6 OS on a non CAS calculator but for 3.1 you can.
