Well, you could make it so that animals are generated with the map and cannot spawn afterwards. Then just make it so that they are saved and restored to /from a table.

I don't think so as long as you can revert back to stock. At least on Android and iOS devices it's this way (there's no way to know whether you soft modded your stuff).
