Miscellaneous / Re: Rubik's Cube
« on: August 11, 2013, 01:17:51 pm »
I'm interested in getting a speed cube now. Any advice on choosing a good one ?

Edit : I lubricated my Rubik's and now it rotates faster, but I still have the corner cutting issue (that's pretty annoying). I'm considering modding it a little bit (with this method and maybe also Florian mod), and getting a proper lube (unless bike chain lube works, I used the cream that I put on my face XD). Also I'm considering getting a Dayan Zhanchi or Panshi.

And I also lowered my average to less than 2 minutes. Also my new personnal record is 1'29". :D

Edit 2 : And then I did 1'27". :D

Edit 3 : 1'23"

Edit 4 : 1'14" (although this one skipped me the last step)

That is because it drains your batteries slower when it is clocked lower.
Yeah that ^. I didn't know how to phrase it. :P

Also I think the HP Prime is downclocked to 266 MHz by default.
That's just speculation but it'd be logical that it's true.

The pic is 557*80. On forums I believe that the main concern is height due to the vertical layout. If it really turns out to be a problem I'll crop and downscale it but for now it stays as is. (BTW the new sig policy allows a total size of 800*200 for the whole sig and mine respects this rule ;)).

General Calculator Help / Re: Please Help!

Therefore, for now at least, you're stuck with 3.2.4 or 3.3...
That is, unless you have / can buy / can borrow a RS232 TTL / USB adapter and you're willing to use it for downgrading your calculator's boot2. The procedure is not complicated, but it requires hardware not provided with the calculator.
Yeah, I know, the situation sucks for users, and it's TI's fault...
wait, I thought that with 3.2.4 or above, even the RS232 TTL/USB adapter method didn't work? ???
It does work. Just that not everybody has it. ;) TI just can't remove this as this would be equivalent to removing DFU mode on iThings : bricked devices that could be saved with this kind of "Recovery" mode would die for stupid reasons.

Can you please make the image in your sig showing your blog large enough so that it fits my entire screen please ?
Thank you.
no thanks, I would prefer if it was at least 90 MB.
But it's only 80 pixels high and takes less than 1KB. ??? My signature respects the new policy as far as I can tell. Unless you browse at 1024*768 it shouldn't be a problem.

Anyway nice blog, but I hope you'll still cross-post your calc project updates on Omni, unlike some people who had blogs in the past. :P
I'm never gonna give up Omni. :P Keoni cross posts stuff from his blog, and I plan to do it too. ;)

Thank you Juju this is perfect. :D

Also yeah the name is made up of a delirium I had with a friend and Minecraft. :P I kept it because it sounds cool even though I don't play much Minecraft anymore (kind of lost interest into it).

Yeah maybe a travel report, if I have internet access. ;) Also random nerdy stuff I guess (calc/Android/computer related).

BTW, if you happen to know a Wordpress plugin that tweets when I post it'd be cool because I didn't get WordTwit to work. :/

Edit : Just enabled commenting for guests, hoping CloudFlare and Akismet will protect me from spam.

^ Clicky

So yeah I have a blog now. I'll work on a new theme when I come back from vacation (I use the default WP theme ATM).
I'll try to add some cool services to it when I have time such as a nightly build system backed by my RPi (cookie if you guess what it'll build :P).

So yeah, go check it out, and follow my RSS and Twitter. :P

The Axe Parser Project / Re: Bug Reports
« on: August 11, 2013, 08:11:30 am »
Yeah I noticed that but it's rare enough to make it acceptable, nut still annoying.
There's another issue : when compiling from Axe, the Goto function messes stuff up and leaks all your RAM so you have to RAM clear.

That's freaking awesome ! O.O This shows that a Zelda GBC style game could be made in pure BASIC. *.*

Yes you can install a CAS OS on a non-CAS calc (I did it on mine) but it's not supported on this forum as this is considered cheating in America (I'm French).

First download Nlaunchy here : http://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_voir.php?id=12130
Then Ndless here : http://www.unsads.com/projects/nsptools/downloader/download/release/1 (pick the highest revision)
And your OS here : http://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_voir.php?id=3717
You also need TNOC : http://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_voir.php?id=1922

Make sure you have an up to date version of the Nspire computer link or student software on your computer. I'll tell you what you need to do once you have all this stuff.
