Absol : Hot Girl Edition ? :P
BTW we still don't know if you're a guy or a girl.

Also I changed my avatar to Rainbow Dash a bit before I got into MLP.

Still haven't told me what platform...
Edit: This is for the z80 series calcs.
:P
Somebody should move the thread.

I plan to code battle math in assembly in order to use the tios floating point engine, so that's not an issue at all. :D

Well, I actually lost interest in Minecraft while getting back to calcs after summer. :P This is when I joined here.

Here you go. :)
Also since these are TI-OS pics, compressing on-calc would be nice but is not necessary.

uuuuuh, so that is the reason why their calcs aren't that popular?
Nope. The main reason, nowadays, is that TI is by far the market leader, and TI is well-integrated everywhere in the education system, so they get the "leader bonus".
Hence they can define prices over ten times the production cost and sell the more powerful ones cheaper than the lower ends to kill them.

But that doesn't prevent HP and Casio to make awesome calcs.

Axe / Bitmap compression
« on: June 04, 2013, 03:43:31 pm »
Hi !
As you may know, I'm working on an Illusiat 11 remake in Axe. I'm currently trying to figure out how to compress the maps (which are 96*63 bitmaps).
With RLE, I can theoretically reach an average of 25% compression, but are there any more efficient algorithms that are both fast to decompress and easy to implement ?

Note that I have no problem mixing in some ASM (for optimization).

Oh that's nice then.

For compression I actually figured out why it didn't work and now it compresses to ~560 bytes. :D I'll ask if there are more efficient algorithms though.

Hmmm, I'm gonna make the normal version first, but the Kin Master Quest edition wouldn't be hard (same engine, only some data to change). So I'd say both (maybe). :D

Edit : I managed to compress Pic1 from 768 bytes to 1195. :P Could someone point me to some bitmap compression algorithm ?

TI-Nspire / Re: nLaunch: Now for CX!
« on: June 04, 2013, 03:43:35 am »
Hello Again... as im trying to get all the files to my calc ive had some problems.
for instance when i want to send the phoenix.tns file to my calc and error shows up and says that i have the wrong handheld for the SO that i want to transfer ( i have a nspire CX and i want to transfer the CX CAS SO)
the same when i want to transfer the nlaunch file...
after reading a bit i thought that i dont have the ndless thing installed on my calc and idk if thats why i cant transfer all this..
so do i need ndless to get the cx cas to work on my calc??

Did you remove the old .tcc extension in phoenix.tns ?

Yeah I planned to have an engine that's as modular as possible and to separate everything I can from it (that's why I wanna make a scripting system). :)

Wouldn't that imply file fragmentation ? That'd be pretty hard to implement.
Anyways zStart already has an archive editor (it copies to RAM then archives back when you quit). You just need enough RAM to open your code.
