Computer Projects and Ideas / Re: Raspberry Pi : What should I do with it ?« on: February 09, 2013, 02:00:16 am »
Might be a good idea, but not for now.
I'm already using it at school for a project, in parallel to what I do at home. 4128

Welcome !
I mainly code for the 83+/84+ series in Axe/ASM, but I know Basic, too. I know a couple computer languages even though I didn't get in any project. Also, have a few more peanuts : And a lil' video 4129

Well, after some tests, network performance is crappy. I can listen to a song through UPnP from my NAS, but playing HD videos is stuttering a lot. The only thing I can think of now is a retro emulator to play NES/SNES and such.

As opposed to the Google PlayStore where you have to pay $25 once...

Because Apple rules for apps are very strict and they most likely won't accept emulators because it opens a breach to run arbitrary stuff w/o jailbreaking (even if it's sandboxed).
Also, where did you get this pic from ? 4132
TI-Boy SE - Game Boy Emulator For TI-83+SE/84 / Re: Official TI-Boy SE Beta Thread« on: February 07, 2013, 01:06:20 pm »
I guess the save file is in the same format as a raw .sav file ? If so, we could just get rid of the 8xv header with an hex editor.

Probably since Mac OS X and iOS share a large part of their core libraries (namely Cocoa, which this app uses, and Cocoa touch). But :
1) I doubt it will be done before this port is finished. 2) It probably won't be accepted on the AppStore so you'll need to jailbreak. 4134
TI-Boy SE - Game Boy Emulator For TI-83+SE/84 / Re: Official TI-Boy SE Beta Thread« on: February 07, 2013, 12:43:12 pm »
Aaaaaah, I see. I wonder if it is possible to dump just the boot code and create a ROM with that + an OS ?

Well, if you know how to use an Hex editor or to program on the computer, you can do it yourself pretty easily.
For your other question, I can't help you except that this won't work in Wabbit (for reasons I don't know (maybe flash unlock doesn't work on it (nested parentheses FTW))), so you'll have to take an actual pic. 4136

Yup, the 84+ has an RTC. I always disable it though, because when you crash, BOOM, it resets.

After all, I decided to put XBMC on it and make it an HTPC, since that's all I can think of.

Look closer. On the top right corner, the 73E doesn't have anything. But this one has the same shape as the 84+ has where the USB port is => that's why I said it looks like it has USB. IMO, it's just an 84+ that they renamed so that we don't mistake it with the CSE, and they're dropping the original 83+ at the same time.
