This is a quick hack to make password reader work on the new fx-CG50.
Note that you can use [F2]+[Up]+[AC/ON],[9] to remove the system password since OS 1.04 3

Announcement: http://www.casio.com/news/detail/casio-raises-bar-for-education-tools-with-new-prizm-graphing-calculator
Seems as if they are basically porting the fx-CP400 3D graphing functionality. I did not read anything regarding touch, so this is nothing like the HP Prime. 4
Casio Calculators / Re: CFX-9850G series hacking without hardware mod possible?« on: January 03, 2017, 03:41:00 pm »
The fx-9750GA Plus has a modern and straightforward PCB design. It was manufactured in 2008 and has the classic CFX software running on it (without colors).
Is there a way to dump the ROM without desoldering the NOR flash chip (which cannot be programmed/erased by the CPU)? E.g., by using some bugs, RAM backup hacking, or assembly code injection which would either print the ROM content on the LCD or send it via 3-pin cable to some other device (e.g. fx-9860G) or the PC. See my post on casiocalc.org: http://community.casiocalc.org/topic/7630-fx-9750ga-plus-rom-dumping/ 5

Here is the secret link for OS 2.08 for SH-3 models: https://edu.casio.com/download_service/download/ib/
Though it will not add anything but remove vector calculations. 6

Upgrading your fx-9750GII should still work with some small modifications, but I won't tell you what these changes are until we have a copy of the OS and this still requires some amount of work to be done.

I hope it doesn't have very important features for BASIC programs that I'll miss The fx-9860GII OS 2.04 only added these vector commands: Vct DotP( CrossP( Angle( UnitV( Norm( 10
Casio Calculators / Re: Upgrading a fx-9750GII to have nautural display« on: September 06, 2014, 05:01:42 pm »Will 2.04 run on original Fx 9860g from 2005? Casio did not compile an OS 2.04 for the fx-9860G, but the GII OS seems to work just fine. 11
Casio Calculators / Re: Upgrading a fx-9750GII to have nautural display« on: September 06, 2014, 01:11:04 pm »Quote Is the fx_mod_orig_os.zip containing the original OS v02.04.0701 that you guys wanted, maybe? Very unlikely. You are the first person who I know of that reported a preinstalled OS 2.04 on an fx-9750GII. We didn't even know whether Casio had compiled such OSes. 12

Hi,
Please remove these links - they are not allowed in this forum. The OS 2.04 cannot be easily backed up as Casio has disabled some functionality. But we are working on this. Could you send me your email address via PM? Thanks. 13

Stop all upgrading activities.
We need to backup this OS first because it is new and we don't have a copy yet. However, this is a bit more complicated and I will let you know when we have a clue how to do it. 14

Casio Calculators / Re: Upgrade to 2.04« on: August 06, 2014, 05:44:21 am »Quote Wait, has Casio actually gone after you or the authors of these tools and tutorials? No, but I guess that they know about it. For instance, they removed a special USB command in OS 2.04 that let's you easily copy the ROM data. They never used this in any PC program, the calculator OS does not use it (unless you request it) and another command for RAM data extraction is still there and fully functional. The only known program that ever used this command is fxRemote... so what does this tell us? At least they are beginning to remove the easy stuff. They are not actively protecting anything except for their updater software, but I think the main reason has been to not let people misuse their updaters to install modified OSes (this is exactly what we did in 2009). Quote Or did you just stop helping due to the many bricked calcs? At least the development versions have a bug that can brick some specific models. How can I know? Well, I bricked one myself... |
